Thanks--I added it to the list. Looks like a carbon copy of KBS's Royal Secret Inspector. Ugh. KBS has another royal inspector drama coming soon I Think of the Moon When Flowers Bloom. It's set in the Joseon era during prohibition. I'm noticing a trend with these series. It's always a handsome inspector trying to expose corruption paired up with a woman that's ahead of her time. Even Mr Queen is like this. However, instead of an inspector, it's the king trying to expose corruption and the queen (technically a man) is the modern one. mydramalist.com/687857-when-flowers-bloom-i-think-of-the-moonKnov-- thanks for all the information about upcoming dramas-- I am always looking for something to watch, so I will keep this list in mind. Good to see you. Hope you've been well. I want to watch something again with other board members. I'm thinking Snowdrop is an early candidate for a board. We'll see once we get closer to May/June.

Have any of you watched any of these inspector dramas? Curious about why this has become a thing all of a sudden. Was one of them particularly good or particularly popular?

I haven't seen any of these inspector dramas and have no idea if they're good or not, but they seem to have been around for quite a long time in Korea, even before television was a thing through folktales. Probably for the same reason why detective shows are a thing.
Goes without say that the concept of fighting and taking down corruption seems timeless.

Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Nara, Lee Joon, Gong Seung Yeon, Jung Jin Young, Park Myung Shin and Kim Woo Seok have all been cast in tvN's Immortality. It's a fantasy series about people that are immortal. Song Kang and Han So Hee have been cast in the JTBC romantic comedy I Know But. It's about 2 people that don't believe in love. It's based on a webtoon. Jeon Yeon Bin has been cast in the Netflix series Glitch. It's about a woman searching for her missing boyfriend. Lee Young Ae has been cast in the action comedy A Wonderful Sight. It's a remake of the BBC series Killing Eve. Hmm... interesting choice for a remake. If you've never heard of Killing Eve, it's about 2 women, a secret agent and an assassin, that have an unhealthy attachment towards each other and end up falling in love. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the remake is anything like the original.

Upcoming 2021 historical SBS Joseon Exorcist(March 2021) Director : Shin Gyeongsu(SBS Deep Rooted Tree, SBS Six Flying Dragons, SBS Green Bean Flower) Writer : Park Gyeok(tvN Queen Cheorin) Time period : King Taejong of Joseon Dynasty Synopsis : Zombie Acopalypse in Joseon Jang Dongyun(Jeon Nokdu in KBS Tale of Nokdu) has been cast as Prince Chungnyeong(later King Sejong) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sejong_the_GreatGam Wuseong(King Geunchogo in KBS King Geunchogo) has been cast as King Taejong en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taejong_of_JoseonLooks like it will be a zombie drama and will involve the Pope after all judging by the cross in the teaser. Christianity and contact with Europeans in early 15th century Korea lol. I know it's a fantasy drama, but these writers man, they just never fail to surprise me with their ideas lol This drama has been canceled off after airing just 2 episodes due to huge criticism regarding excessive amount of historical distortion. All the sponsors have called off their sponsorship after huge criticism from the public. SBS decided that drama could not continue without sponsors. Joseon being founded with help from the Pope wasn't the only issue with the drama. I have not watched this drama, but here are issues of this drama according to the article : 1. King Taejong apparently acts like a psycho and kills innocent civilians in this drama. While historical Taejong was cold-blooded when it comes to taking out his political enemies, he would never harm any regular citizens. 2. Prince Chungnyeong(King Sejong) bows down to European missionary and acts like his servant. 3. Prince Chungnyeong visits Gisaengs and belittles his own bloodline saying "King Mokjo(Lee Seonggye's great-great-grandfather who was given a honorary king title after foundation of Joseon Dynasty) ran away from his town with a Gisaeng. That bloodline isn't going anywhere." 4. Peasants belittling Choi Young by saying "Who in the hell said Choi Young was a loyal man? These Goryeo bastards treated us like dogs while they were comfortably praying to their Buddha." Historically, most peasants around the whole country mourned Choi Young's death. This drama makes it sound like people hated Choi Young. 5. Joseon in this drama looks like China, not Korea. Buildings and tables look Chinese, people drink from red Chinese style alcohol bottle, and apparently people in this drama are all eating Chinese foods like century egg, Chinese mooncakes, and Chinese dumplings. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Century_eggen.wikipedia.org/wiki/MooncakeBecause of No.5, Korean Internet commenters are speculating that the writer Park Gyeok is a Korean-Chinese(Korean blood, but born and raised in Korean-speaking region of China, kind of like China's Quebec) It is unknown whether Park Gyeok is a Korean-Chinese, but netizens have found out that the CEO of entertainment company that he is signed to is a Korean-Chinese. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koreans_in_ChinaPeasants belittling Choi Young in No.4 apparently said those words in Korean-Chinese dialect. Good riddance. Never should have been made in the first place. Hopefully, other directors and writers learned their lesson from this and never produce a crazy fantasy like this.
