2013 is going to be another year of fusion/fantasy sagueks.
Every sageuks except Dream of the Great King will be fusion/fantasy.
Here are new sageuk line-ups for next year as of now.
MBC - Unknown, but it is rumored that QSD writers will come back with a new sageuk.
SBS - The Yi Soon Shin fantasy
KBS
1. Jeon Woo Chi(same name as the movie, but will have different story without time travel. The original Jeon Woo Chi story is about a magician who goes around punishing evil nobles)
2. Joseon 119(January 2013) - A drama about Joseon dynasty firefighters. 119 is the Korean number for 911.
3. Sword and Flower - 100% fictional sageuk(like Moon Embraces Sun) set during Goguryeo. A girl disguises herself as a guy and creates a gang to get revenge on the rival family that destroyed her family and caused the death of her father. However, she falls in love with the young man of the rival family.
4. The writer of King of Baking Kim Tak Gu will be writing a new sageuk, but the title or the synopsis of the drama is unknown.
It looks like my only hope is Dream of the Great King.

Truth forgot to mention that the upcoming Myongryang movie is being directed by the same person who did War of the Arrows, which only excites me more. When is this film coming out anyway?

Truth , are you sure Kim Namgil will join the Joseon 119 ? it's too early to affirm he does debut with that drama. Anyways, I want to tell my friend, who is a fan of Kim , this good piece of news. And about QSD writers, the two persons will co-operate or working individually ?

@sageuk I don't know. HungVI'm sorry, it turned out to be a rumor. Kim Namgil denied being casted to the drama. Yes, two writers would be cooperating if the rumor is true, which is why I said writers, not writer.

Thanks you as usual for the great update information, truth. Always very grateful for your keeping us up to date. Although, I'm no happier than you are with the content! Sounds like it will be a year to catch up on past stuff I haven't seen.

And my next year plan is looking backward finding worth watching former pure sageuks. Any recommendations ? Anyhow...I'll take a look at Horse Doc if I have time.

I'll probably check out the MBC show the QSD writers are working on. I like their stuff.
A drama about firefighters? That's a weird concept. Splashing water at flames don't sound like a show at all. A show about modern firefighters make more sense because of the technology

I'd appreciate it if we can keep the discussion in this thread to upcoming dramas. It's fine if you mention another show as reference. Actress Seo Woo has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming tvN daily drama Glass Mask. It'll begin airing in September after Yellow Boots ends.

Never Mind. Jeon Woo Chi will be airing on October this year, not next year.

Seo Woo, Lee Ji Hoon, Park Jin Woo, and Kim Yoon Seo will make up the cast for the upcoming tvN daily drama Glass Mask. It's about Kang Yi Kyung (role played by Seo Woo), a woman who has lived a rough life due to being the daughter of a killer. It begins on Monday, September 3.
