It's not exactly a Korean channel but it's available via HBO Asia. That's why it's in "Other Shows". ;D Winter is coming!

The Author George R R Martin who also over see's every episode of the Drama said he was inspired to write this by England's 15th Century Wars Of The Roses . The influence is there The houses of Stark and Lannister seem based on rival Plantagenet Houses Of York and Lancaster . In the near future ill draw up a list of characters and their real life counterparts ,though some characters are 100 % fictional . An example of real life would be Ned Stark /Richard Duke Of York .
I have not read the books ,i was tempted to when i heard they were making it but as each season is very faithful to its book it seemed best not too . Season 2 has gotten off to a great start so far very pleased with how its developed .
More new characters will appear in Episode 2 ,I am really curious to see Natalie Dormer in The Tudors she pretty much upstaged the whole cast with her role as Anne Boleyn in fact she pretty much owns that role ,however since her demise on the series she has not really done much since saw her in a couple of BBC series and was unimpressed so lets see what she can bring to this .
Tyrion Lannister is one of the really interesting characters he obviously has no love for his own family as they have little for him being a dwarf but obviously blood is thicker than water as long as they are the ruling power and one gets the impression he would have no problems throwing his family under the cart if it will help him ,i am curious what his ultimate aim is though ?.

I thought what Cersei told Tyrion about his biggest joke being when he was born and their mother died was cruel. S2 needs more Dany and less incest.

I agree she was hardly in the second episode .
The second episode was pretty strange in so much as nothing really happened it was almost like a filler episode ,Tyrion had the best scenes of all the main cast members ,of the new characters so far the red headed priestess seems to be the most interesting .
curious as i have not read the books i thought we were on to the second book but the credits still list the first .

I haven't read the books but I know some of what happens later on. I started watching Game of Thrones on a whim. I knew nothing about it going in. I didn't even know it was based on a book series. I was just looking for something new to watch. I saw some previews and it looked interesting. Been hooked ever since.
When Ned died, that's when I started doing some research on the series. I wanted to know where the story was going. You don't often see a central character die like that so it caught me by surprise. Game of Thrones doesn't have a main character but Ned was the closest thing to it in S1. Since then, I've learned not to get too attached to any of the characters.
Not sure where the series is in relation to the books. All I know is that each book will be covered in a season. The exception being book 3, A Storm of Swords, which will be split into 2 seasons.

Me too i never read the books and feared it may be some LOTR rip off and when i first watched it it seemed very slow but i liked the way it came together and Neds execution was a shock (same thing happened to Neds real life role model Richard Duke Of York ) and you are right about no central character for a while i was thinking John Snow would emerge but not so sure now .

Best line of the week: "They are the knights of summer and winter is coming." Renly is supposed to have the largest army but he's just sitting around doing nothing so far. Good episode but no Dany this week. There was no Robb either. I imagine that didn't make the fangirls happy.

But us lucky guys got Natalie Dormer . I thought this Ep was the strongest of the 3 aired so far considering nothing much has really happened in the first 3 eps.

Are you all watching it on cable?
I've watched bits on GoT website, but the stop-and-go of loading drives me nuts. Still, it's fun to see the characters and their costumes. I've read the first 4 books and have been tempted to buy the first series. So far I've resisted. The paperback edition of the fifth book won't be released until July.....

I have seen really cheap copies on Amazon ,it is worth seeing as George R R Martin oversaw every episode and gave it his approval .

It can also be seen via HBO GO. HBO will sometimes make episodes available on HBO GO before they air.

Margaery Tyrell is much more ambitious than I thought she'd be. She doesn't just want to be a queen, she wants to be THE queen.
I have to agree with Jorah. Dany is bound to receive numerous offers to "aid" her quest, mostly from people after her dragons. She shouldn't jump at the first offer she gets.
I wonder how long it'll be before someone figures out who Arya really is.
We're already halfway thru S2.
