In retrospect, I get the feeling that they were writing the show as it went on, delivering episodes a few weeks ahead of a shoot (as was depicted in the SBS show "King of Drama")...without having a pre-determined story arc to guide them, or in the case of GKS, a book to base the show on.

Well THAT was weird. They referenced Memoirs of Lady Hyegyeong from the late 80s--would anybody have gotten that one? And can you explain the reference with the wide-eyed crazy guy? Was that from some other series he did? I did manage to figure out that the script he was looking at had him cast in every role--that was funny. (Or is it reality?)
Thanks for the link--I had no idea that SNL had franchised itself to other countries. Was fascinating to see that. I guess Choi hosted that week.

Right at the beginning for a moment, and then again about a minute in. With his hair over his face. Handed Choi the script. Is that a reference to somebody in a series?

As much as I could understand I was totally laughing my arse off. I think the only one I actually got "for sure" was Prince Sado, but I don't know why ajk is saying they're referencing the 1980s Lady Hyegyoung--hasn't he appeared in several series since then?

The text that flashed on the screen when he emerged as Prince Sado specifically cites the Lady Hyegyeong series. I matched the Hangul characters using an Internet listing that has the Korean titles for many historicals. And you can see the "500" in the text too, as in, 500 Years of Chosun Dynasty, of which the Hyegyeong series was a part.

Choi Cheol Ho, who played Bidam in this drama and King Seonjo in IYSS, has been arrested after kicking someone else's car on the street while being under influence. He continued to cause trouble at the police station as he cussed at police officers.
This is the 2nd time he caused trouble. He went on a 2 year hiatus in 2010 after he was arrested for beating up a woman while being under influence.
Looks like we won't be seeing him in any drama again.

Was he "first" King Seonjo in IYSS, or "2nd" King S? In the opening scenes (episodes 1 through 4), we had one guy, but for the rest of the drama we had a different one.
Sounds like he needs "help."

I didn't like this one, I watched it thinking it will be more accurate than QSD but I guess not and the acting of some actors are so bad - I honestly feel like I was watching a sitcom instead of tv drama.
It bored me out but I wanted to see Bidam's rebellion and see whether they will show it more accurately than in QSD but they didn't or the whole thing is just so confusing...and just like in QSD they didn't let Bidam get capture and executed but instead he died while fighting an entire army alone.
What do you mean? They chopped his body while alive or have a horse or cow pulled his arms and legs until it's torn apart from his body? that's....a really painful way to die....he should've just fought to death then, instead of letting himself get captured and executed.

Honestly, I didn't like this one either, skipped lots of boring and confusing episodess. I was interested in Korean Three Kingdom period, I expected a good show when I heard it coming, but it was really disappointing afterwards.
I guess his fighting to death shown in this series was for visual effects.
Bidam's rebellion was the only good arc and also the part I was looking for after the silly rebellion in MBC Queen Seondeok. The whole arc would be better if they stopped the shouting and useless arguing between Chunchu or Yushin with Bidam. And there is something really confused me. In episode 44, the narration said Queen Seondeok married King Gukban-the younger brother of her father, which made her married her uncle! History said she didn't marry anyone. I wonder why the wrong information was given in the narration.
