Ep. 35:
Choi tells Jeong he’ll explain everything; Jeong sends spies to follow Choi and the other Norons; San’s men prevent this; Hong butts heads with Jeong.
When San confers with Yeong-jo, the old man seems forgetful. The queen continues to manipulate the king behind the scenes.
Dae-su learns Uncle and Mak-soon had a falling out when she learned he “doesn’t have one.”
San asks Dae-su to go check on Song and take her some medicines and stuff. When he does, he discovers there was a political shake-up and Song was kicked out by the new chief of the painting academy and hasn’t been heard of since. Hearing this, San starts some investigations. Hyeoui and Lady Hye both learn of Song’s disappearance from Prime Minister Hong, who learned of it separately.
Princess visits Yeong-jo and tries to sound him out. When she disses San, he rebuffs her, reminds her she’s merely a woman and sends her out. He then gets so upset at a tightly tied scroll that he yells at his poor eunuch, who sends a report to the Queen. She packs up her main old lady and the two go to Yeong-jo’s place; he tells her he was just thinking of visiting her. She helps him with his scrolls and gets him to issue an imperial order calling back her brother (whom he always liked). Hong sees the secretary going in and tells San.
San goes over there to check on the king’s health, but Yeong-jo is asleep by then. At her palace, the queen bullies the royal secretary into delivering the imperial order without revealing her presence or involvement. She later secretly meets with Lord Kim. Kim's next move is to confront a shocked Jeong in the street and threaten him for going against the queen.
Hyeoui, overwhelmed with guilt, confesses to San that Lady Hye forced Song to leave to protect Hyeoui. San mopes about for awhile, and somewhere in the snow, Song—walking home—collapses. Mak-soon tells Uncle and Dae-su that Song has been found. The doctor tells them she got there too late and she will probably die. Dae-su sends word to San, who rides out to see her. He bursts into her room, hugs her and cries manly tears over her still form.

When San was unpacking Song’s art supplies, was I the only one that thought there’d be a letter—you know, “Meet me at the Empire State Building at midnight New Year’s Eve…” Har.
And I’m thinking, he’d better not be mean to Hyeoui for this or I'll know he's a jerk.
