Yes George Martin admits he borrowed from the real life conflict ,it will be interesting to see these two going head to head but looks like we will see one long before the other .

Last night I watched 2 new shows on NBC, Channel 5: The New Normal and Go On. NN has some promise, with Ellen Barkin as an opinionated (unfortunately racist too) grandmother and [someone new/Georgia King] as her granddaughter trying to figure out her life. Sometimes it's cringe-making, though. Go On is a comedy with Matthew Perry as a newly widowed man trying to cope. He wasn't doing too well in facing his wife's death and was suspended from his job as a sports radio talk-show host, until he completes several weeks of group therapy. He subverts the therapist both the 2 sessions he attends. I'll keep watching this one. Edited to add: Once Upon a Time (ABC) has a new development this season, with magic somehow coming to Storybrook in a big purple cloud. No clue yet about who will control it. I hope it isn't only the evil queen's magic. grrr. Snow White and Prince Charming recognize each other now, I think. They don't know that their daughter is in town, though. What a shock it'll be to find her, now that parents and daughter are the same age! Grimm (NBC) has added a new character (end of last season), the mother of the Grimm, played by Mary Mastroantonio. She's a fierce fighter.

HBO renewed Boardwalk Empire for a 4th season. No surprise there.
NBC picked up Revolution, Go On and The New Normal for the entire season. Some shows already in danger of being cancelled are Last Resort (ABC), 666 Park Avenue (ABC), Mob Doctor (FOX), Animal Practice (NBC), Made in Jersey (CBS) and Partners (CBS).

S3 of Walking Dead starts this Sunday. Walking Dead S3 TrailerWe already have our first casualties of the new fall season. CBS cancelled Made in Jersey. NBC pulled the plug on Next Caller before it even aired. Mob Doctor [FOX] will likely be next on the chopping block. It's doing poorly in ratings.

Homeland was renewed by Showtime for another season. CBS picked up Vegas and Elementary for the entire season. The CW did the same with Arrow. ABC cancelled Private Practice.
I've now watched at least 1 episode for each show I was planning on checking out this fall season. I'm not counting Lost Girl or Game of Thrones. Both shows don't premiere until 2013. Some thoughts on what I've seen so far.
Boardwalk Empire: S3 has been up and down. I don't particularly care for Nelson, Owen or Margaret. But, to be honest, I watch this more for the era it's set in rather than the characters.
The Walking Dead: No real issues with S3 so far. Waiting for the governor to start appearing.
Revenge: I dropped Revenge after 2 eps of S2. Moving it to Sunday made it harder for me to keep up with.
Mob Doctor: I dropped this after 2 eps. It's likely to be cancelled anyway.
Hawaii Five-0: Only saw the season premiere. Seems like Adam and Kono will remain an item.
Happy Endings: My 2nd favorite comedy after Modern Family. They should film in Chicago.
Suburgatory: Good comedy.
Modern Family: NBC tried to copy MF with The New Normal but it's not as good.
Arrow: Oliver Queen is a rich playboy. He's stranded on an island for 5 years. He comes back and goes into hero mode. Show has potential. CW already picked it up for the entire season.
Big Bang Theory: Sheldon and Amy kept me watching for a while. I got tired of Leonard and Penny being on and off again. Howard being caught between Bernadette and his mom. Dropped BBT after the premiere.
Person of Interest: I tried to think of something to say besides "good show" and came up with nothing.
Beauty and the Beast: Catherine's mother is murdered right in front of her. She becomes a detective to find out what happened to her mom. The beast is a former solider that was experimented on and it all went wrong.
Hunted: British spy series. Sam is betrayed by someone on her team. She goes into hiding after an attempt on her life. She returns a year later to find out who tried to have her killed.
Nikita: Ratings are low but Nikita will probably stick around.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun: A new anime series I'm watching. It's about a girl that only cares about school. Her life begins to change after meeting a boy who is rough around the edges but nice to her in his own way. It's like the anime version of a K-Drama.

Last season I was watching the new Thundercats series on CN. They took a break for a while and I didn't keep up with it when it started airing again. Thundercats

From what I've heard, they're not continuing anymore. I really don't care, because it was pretty mediocre.
Other cartoons I would have been watching if it wasn't for those #$%* at CN giving those #$%*@ hiatuses. Does their chairman have a grudge against those creative teams or something?
Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated. Its possibly the best thing to happen in the franchise, despite some flaws that make me scratch my head. Green Lantern TAS. Easily CN's best show so far. It helps that the man behind the DCAU, Bruce Timm, is involved.
Young Justice. First season was good, second season went pretty downhill. This one is hit and miss. Biggest flaw is being reeeally convoluted. Also, for a cartoon, it takes itself way too seriously. It tries too hard to be mature. Its recent episode was the best in a while though.
As for a different network.... Nick has a new TMNT series. So far its just okay. The CG looks choppy, but the action is pretty good. It can be pretty funny as well, despite some of the humor feeling forced (like anime antics). My favorite aspect of this new series is this version of Splinter. This quote sums it up perfectly: “The first rule of ninjutsu is do no harm. Unless you mean to do harm. Then do LOTS of harm.”
