Well, I've not watched GoT yet and the BR disc won't be available till March. The other show I've in mind is the 2nd season of Spartacus B&S. With the passing of Andy Whitfield, hopefully his replacement can do as well. Screen romps aside, it's disconcerting to see first hand at what the Romans must have enjoyed for entertainment. It's one thing to read about it and another to see it protrayed in blood gory. Previous screen portrayals of gladiators in the arena are pedestrian compared to the merciless brutality of SBaS. I'm not sure the depiction can be denoted as screen artistry; Roman love for blood and suffering is well recorded. To them, it's nothing. It's part of their cultural mentality of that time. I've to say I'm, well, amused to see that the producers try their best to keep it authentic; that Roman public toilet is a rarified sight indeed.

I like this show ,i actually thought the pre quel Gods Of The Arena was the better of the two ,it actually had more depth . That said this may be the final Spartacus season as we see Starz veering away from period drama to more modern fare being are cheaper to make and draw a bigger crowd ,just like Asia . Notice Camelot was not renewed . Hbo found out with Rome and Deadwood the market for period dramas is small ,though a fantasy Game Of Thrones seems to be an exception . The Tudors was the most successful of the recent cable period drama boom and Showtime found out instead of continuing with Edward ,Mary and Elizabeth a move to the sunnier climbs of Italy with The Borgia's was not the way to go .though they do have a second season lined up . I would say Thrones aside this year should see the end of the mini period boom as far as the U.S. Market goes .

I started watching the re run of season 1 again as it will lead into the new season .
Lots of changes many new characters ,the most major change is the Albino Princess has been recast with Natalie Dormer (Anne Boleyn ...Tudors ) taking that role ,i did like the original actress but Dormer was one of the high points of Tudors .
Spartacus got off to a great start now we are at the early stages of the Rebellion and it looks like it could develop in a great way . Seemed pointless to keep Lucy Lawless alive as they clearly do not know what to do with her character . The new guy is ok not as good as Whitfield but he will do .

@dyc When you say albino princess do you mean Dany? Isn't she still being played by Emily Clark? She is still in the trailer and behind the scenes vids.

Yes, Dany is still being played by Emilia Clarke. I think fans of the show would go ballistic if she [or Peter Dinklage] were replaced. Natalie Dormer is joining GOT to play someone else.

I liked this week's episode of Ringer. I was anxiously waiting for Bridget to confront the teacher to see what would happen. We still don't know if the stepdaughter is telling the truth or not. It's difficult to tell because they're both being a bit off. I'm inclined to believe her because the teacher closed the classroom door. I know that's not much to go on but his action makes me question him more than her. It'll be interesting to see what Siobhan tells Henry. If you didn't catch Kristen Bell on Ellen, I suggest you watch the clip below. It's hilarious. Kristen Bell - Sloth Meltdown

I think the stepdaughter was telling the truth about the rape (or was it molestation without risk of pregnancy? {anyhow it was forced}). This week Henry was stunned to see Bridget while standing next to Siobhan. But what on earth does Siobhan think she's doing? Having an affair with the younger stud who works for Andrew, telling him that she's having his baby (!) and pleading for a renewed relationship with Henry. Just moving around NYC is risky, I think. Oh, well, I'm enjoying the ride!

Another good episode of Ringer this week. Siobhan seems to love Henry. My guess is she tries to spin things to be Bridget's fault, including someone being after her.
I still think Ringer would work better as a cable series with 12-13 episode per season. If you think about it, Henry learning that Bridget is pretending to be Siobhan, would have been a great way to end the first season.
Next week's episode of Revenge brings us back to the pilot. We'll finally get to see what happened to Daniel.
Walking Dead returns this weekend.
As much as I like the shows I'm watching, I'm not fond of the long hiatus periods some of these shows have taken. Then when they return with new episodes, they'll air like 2 new episodes and go back to hiatus. It makes you lose interest in shows, even if you really like them. I already dropped Lost Girl because of this and that was one of my must watch shows.

So it turns out the stepdaughter was lying after all. The teacher and the other girl were in on it too. They were after Andrew's money. Just like I thought, Siobhan spun things and blamed Bridget for everything. It's a shame that Ringer is likely to be cancelled. Other CW shows like Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie and Nikita could be cancelled too.
So far, I'm liking ABC's new series The River. Right off the bat, they establish that the show deals with the supernatural. The show isn't necessarily scary but it's suspenseful and sometimes creepy.

I wonder if the stepdaughter will be able to keep it secret for a while, or will she blow up at her father pretty soon and walk out when he tries to guide her to behave properly. I was really shocked to see them partying after their victory. Boo on them.

Game of Thrones is back! No major developments in episode 1 of S2. It mostly served to introduce some of the new characters.
What do you guys think? Does GOT deserve its own thread?
