I watched the pilot for the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls on Monday. I liked it much better than the other new comedies I checked out. If it continues being good, I might just add it to my probables list. Season 2 of Hawaii Five-O also started on Monday. I like that the show doesn't take itself too seriously. Much like what they do with Supernatural. Plus, the whole thing with Steve and Dan is total fan service. But, I'm not complaining because anyone that's seen Lost Girl would say the same thing about Bo and Lauren. I watched a trailer for Boardwalk Empire and it made me look forward to the S2 premiere this weekend. Boardwalk Empire S2 TrailerI'm also looking forward to the FX series Powers but we'll likely have to wait until Summer 2012 for that. Powers is based on a comic book series and was shot in Chicago. Carly Foulkes, aka the girl from the T-Mobile ads, will play a supporting character on the show. Terra Nova..since Spielberg is involved, I've gotta watch it Did you watch the TNT series Falling Skies over the summer? Spielberg is executive producer of the show.

HI there, I'm new to this Website, I stop watching prime time TV and cable TV. That might be strange to others, but I got tried of watching the some old material written by the same writers out there. " Maybe if it's worth watching". I will go to the show for a good movie. So I only watch Dramas Korean Dramas. I watch on-line or I order DVDs through the mail from over seas. I have a small collection mostly Historical dramas I'm hooked to the bone. If any anybody could give me advice how to use this website I will appreciate it. ;D, Thanks:

HI there, I'm new to this Website, I stop watching prime time TV and cable TV. If any anybody could give me advice how to use this website I will appreciate it. ;D, Thanks: Well, first, hello and welcome to the board. This is a Chicago based board but we have regular members from all over the world. We used to watch K-Dramas via KBC [local tv station] here in Chicago but, since they switched to Arirang, we've had to look for different outlets. Since earlier this year, we switched to the online service DramaFever for shows we provide on the board. That's how we watch the dramas in the internet dramas section. That's allowed members who don't live in Chicago to watch the dramas with us. We operate on a schedule to keep things organized and avoid spoilers. You can see the schedule for each drama by clicking on the drama info and schedule thread in the board for the drama. As far as the shows mentioned in Other Shows goes, the method of viewing these shows will vary. Most watch online [via stream or download] but some still watch on TV [via cable or local station]. We don't mind if members point each other in the right direction in terms of sites to watch, or even download, dramas, but we don't allow download links here. If the drama(s) you're interested in is available at DramaFever, we recommend going with them. I hope that helps. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Never saw Falling Skies. Cable wasn't working I don't have cable. That's never stopped me. ;D If you're interested in checking out the show, I can find out where it's available.

Oddly enough, I'm liking new shows I wasn't originally planning on watching and not liking the shows I thought I would.
2 Broke Girls [CBS] and Revenge [ABC] turned out to be better than I thought they would be. If they continue being good, or don't get cancelled, they'll likely become regulars on my lineup along with Ringer [CW].
New Girl, Up All Night, The Secret Circle and Prime Suspect didn't live up to my expectations. I gave Prime Suspect a shot because of Maria Bello but it's just like all the other cop dramas. Someone needs to tell Maria that the hat needs to go.
I was a bit apprehensive about watching The Big Bang Theory. I didn't like how they ended the previous season. One of my issues with American shows is that they only know how to stirs things up in one of 2 ways: bring in an old/new flame or have 2 people jump into bed together. Many of my favorite shows have been guilty of this. They did the latter with Raj and Penny on BBT and I was ready to drop the show because of it. After watching the season premiere, I was pleased with how they dealt with the issue. The show has only gotten better since the addition of Amy so I'm glad they got past the drunken hiccup and will definitely continue watching.

Yeah, I enjoyed 2 Broke Girls too, enough to keep watching it. Seems like the kind of thing that might get stale before long--we'll see how they write the episodes going forward. But that thing at the end of each epsiode where they give the running total for the cupcake business, that's very clever.
Also am relieved that Kutcher hasn't ruined Two and a Half Men. He's always seemed like a real lightweight to me, but so far he's just been pretty deadpan and is letting the writing do the work--which is the right move since the writing is what drives the show.
So now I'll have to fire up the old VCR because both shows run against the Prohibition documentary next week and that's getting rave reviews.

I thought Terra Nova was pretty good, with a few groaners (surprisingly lax security on the gate, letting the hero through it, but he's essential to the story, so that'll have to be forgiven). There's also a sullen teenage boy acting out, a renegade group, and some mysterious graphics on stone.
Our hero and his family were in the 10th group to come in, so they came to a functioning settlement and didn't have to backpack in everything, thank goodness. I don't know how long humans have been there, but they've figured out a few things, like using a giant wood louse or something to remove an excess of (CO2??) from someone's blood. Seeing the little girl feeding leaves to a huge dinosaur (brontosaurus?) was cute if scary.
This sure beats "reality" shows!

New shows I will add to my line-up are Revenge (lovely surprise), 2 broke girls, Person of Interest, Prime Suspect ( I liked it and the hat should stay) and Ringer (campy but fun, I hope it doesn't get cancelled because of ratings).
Terra Nova was better than I expected so I will keep tabs on it. I don't think the Playboy club was as bad as people said so I may watch a few more episodes despite the fact it may get cancelled.
Disappointments: New Girl (boggles my mind that people find it funny), Up all Night, Charlie's Angels, Secret Council.

CW shows don't tend to get the ratings that the other networks do so I think Ringer has a shot of sticking around. I concur on the disappointments.

No, can't say I have, but I will try to keep a look out for any commercials-- although that's hard when we use the DVR -- I also remembered I like to watch Fringe a lot, too

Heh, you were right Knov. THere are ways to watch tv without cable. I'm watching Terra Nova right now.
The biggest flaw I can think of is stupid teenagers.. I hate creatures like that. Stupid teenagers and their hormones.
Another flaw is the CG dinosaurs, but granted I guess it was too much to expect them to be like the ones from Jurassic Park.
So far, interesting concept. All I just need to do is wait for progress.
Looking forward to Walking Dead S2

Suburgatory is much funnier than I thought it would be. Good episodes of Ringer, Revenge, The Vampire Diaries and Prime Suspect this week.
Best line of the week so far: "She runs like an Oompa Loompa." - Detective Calderon in Prime Suspect, referring to Timoney [Maria Bello]. I nearly fell out of my chair when he said it.

Anyone watch the new Starz series Boss? It's about a fictional Chicago mayor played by Kelsey Grammer. The show sounds interesting but I'm not a fan of Kelsey Grammer. I wanted to get some thoughts on it before checking it out.
2 Broke Girls, Hart of Dixie, Ringer, Revenge, Suburgatory and The Secret Circle have all been picked up for the entire season. Boardwalk Empire was renewed for a 3rd season. Nikita's ratings have been less than stellar, same could be said for several CW shows, but the head of the CW is a big fan of the show so it's unlikely to get canned. Prime Suspect seems to be in trouble though. That must be why NBC is going out of its way to promote it.
