synopsis Ep.14:
Starting with this meeting between Younghwan Construction's Lee, Choi and Pres, and GBS's Taesok and Wujin, Y-C is on alert. They are plainly following W and even motorcycle-snatch papers from her in an intersection. W and T, on the other side, swear to get to the bottom of the situation, even after T learns his father, Congressman Oh, is involved somehow (although it is very upsetting to T). W is unaware of this until late in the proceedings and then tries to keep T out of it, which also upsets him. The story on Cong Oh was that he was found guilty of accepting illegal bribes from Younghwan. (Why is he in jail and they aren’t? They must be Halliburton’s Korean Twin.) Y-C obviously still have a hold on Cong Oh, who tries to meet his son and make up on a personal level, but T is through with him. During the time that W, T and S are uncovering all of the government/Y-C shenanigans (without their News Boss's knowledge), the STG does a report on how great the economic zone will be for everybody, secretly pssss'd to him by PD's Jung. Also, NB and SD's Ahn discuss whether Jung will take NB's job, and Ahn tries to get Jung to admit what he's up to but gets no joy. T lets NB and Ahn know about their investigations, but NB is skittish after the last run-in with Y-C. T gets the other reporters to back him for running the story, and puts his job on the line (and those of everyone else in GBS), and the NB finally says, okay, I'll put my job on the line too (symbolized by both of them putting their IDs on top of Wujin's story). They air the story, and Y-C discusses what to do about it. Y-C Pres thinks the others are too heavy-handed, he has something more subtle up his sleeve. This ends up as: Taesok is apparently betrayed into "bribing" someone by his old family friend and political contact, by meeting someone in a cafe who is supposed to help them trace the info in the memory chip. Taesok is arrested for threatening Atty Cho (weird) and dragged out screaming from the cafe.
My thoughts:
I half expected the car to blow up when Taesok put his keys into the ignition after meeting his dad, didn't you? I don't know how they can possibly get out of this.
