Man, I just finished watching this one. What a goodie!
Synopsis of Ep.12: The photo is of whistle-blowing Attorney Cho, who has disappeared. The girls are to do the best they can to cover the story without finding Cho (because everyone knows they can’t), and News Boss will use their reports and analyses to choose the winner. Soonchul volunteers to help Wujin, STG is “volunteered” to help Myung-eun, and Taesok assigns the In-Depth Report (IDR) team, greatly depleting Current Affairs. In the ladies’ room, M-E gives W a lot of back-handed compliments and tells her to do her best. W is pleased; M-E seems more human. News Boss informs T he’ll be the male host of IDR, and that since the president is pressing for some buzz, he’ll have to release “the name of the host and the title of the show.” I think he’s saying, they’ll release the publicity with T as the host and then add a girl later. T finds this unfair, but NB says, it’s just that way. Juhee can temporarily manage Current Affairs. (Um, why isn’t she doing it already?) M-E has info on file, works hard and puts together a tape and analysis pretty quickly, which impresses everyone. W decides she must get an interview with Atty Cho, because nobody cares about all the data, they care about why Cho blew the whistle. So she stalks a priest who supports Cho, even going so far as to use the confessional, and eventually steals a phone number off the priest’s cellphone--a fishing place. Soonchul helps her by pestering the attorney’s son and doing tape editing, but his tape is not that impressive, and he also takes her to the fishing place where there seem to be a lot of middle-aged guys hiding out. S leaves, and W figures out which is Atty Cho, but then she is arrested along with Cho. Nobody knows what happened to her, even though the agent promises he’ll tell her family and GBS. The agent is afraid she’ll ruin his investigation, and he wants to manipulate the information “for the safety of the country.” W bargains with him. In the meantime, the News Boss decides he has to go with M-E and Taesok as the hosts. As everyone prepares for this taping, T receives a call from Soonchul saying he’s heard from W. Where is she, T demands. W is shown in a hallway with Atty Cho and the agents, leaving the conference room where they’ve been held.
