This one was another different drama. I had the feeling that I wasn't getting the story the entire time I was watching this yesterday, but I assume that everything will be wrapped up in the second half.
Except for the superfluous cutting and fancy intros/outros (basically most of the cinematography), I liked it.
I was wondering why Min-gi (is that his name?) would be an angry ghost until I saw the scene near the end. I mean, it's obvious why he wouldn't bug the girl, but if I saw right, her other two friends (the guy who wants to marry her and the other girl) were trapped with Min-gi. The last part of that scene that they showed was the other guy holding Min-gi up so he wouldn't fall into some hole, but I'm assuming that he let Min-gi go and that's why he died. In that case, I would understand an angry ghost.
So did the store just collapse? I originally thought there was a fire, but from that later scene, it looks like it just collapsed. Does this often happen to buildings in Korea w/o any other impetus (e.g. earthquake)?
P.S. I didn't think her hair looked better down either; it had that bump in it that comes from wearing it up and she didn't brush it out. /snarkiness

This was a pretty interesting show; I'm going to tape the second episode Monday morning. It was hard to follow because of the editing and the back-and-forth in time, but I got the feeling toward the end that they were trying to go for an Asian horror-genre kind of thing. All that weirdness and startled looks.
But, on another note, ONCE AGAIN we've got two lovers suddenly separated (building collapse, gas explosion, sudden "death") as our pre-story intro and then: "Ten Years Later." Strikes me as rather lazy storytelling, but then again, the "Drama City" directors are probably only given a maximum of two episodes to tell the tale, and it's hard to cram an interesting plot into an hour of airtime without taking some shortcuts.

Ooh, an evil ghost! I was worried this was going to be a knockoff of Ghost, with that crazy psychic playing the Whoopi Goldberg part. I like the idea of a vengeful spirit, terrifying the folks who survived. I can't imagine what he's going to do to his ex girlfriend, since he was covering for her.
On a side note, what is it about these drama girls, who are still hung up on thier dead boyfriends 10 years later? Are Korean boys such great boyfriends when they're in school that no grown man can replace him? I needs to get me a Korean guy before I get out of college.

LOL! When I started getting the basic storyline I thought of you, Lucy and how you would just "love" the original plot. They are kind of overdoing it. Hey, that's neat that the story is based on actual events (minus the ghost), I actually hadn't heard about that tragedy.
Drama City is actually only one one-hour episode so not a lot of time to spare. KBC edits it to 1/2 an hour so it can replace 2 days of MPC.
Still trying to figure out why this ep. is called Dr. Love though.

Well, I know from her session where she turned her name plate around that her name is Dr. Shin. I looked online for an English-Korean dictionary so that I could see if my theory was correct - that Shin means love in Korean. BUT apparently the meanings don't come up unless I type in the korean typeface (why? only people who have hangul on their computers matter?).
I know that it's something that bothers her patients b/c she had to turn around her nameplate once. Another possibility is that her name means death; it sounds similar to a word for death that I know. That would also be eerily appropriate.
Anyway, enough rambling. It's really interesting that it's based on a real story; I wonder how long after the collapse this show was aired.

I missed bits and pieces of this episode. I saw the ending where Dr. Love and her patient turned partner (as he says it) were in her car. At the stoplight, she was smiling at this guy who was in the car next to her. Then the patient turned partner guy (sorry, I don't remember his name) got some sort of premonition? May someone please explain what this might have meant? Thanks in advance !

I should really learn to read other people's posts before I post! Because I just read through and someone else posted the same question I asked a few posts before! Sorry guys! So did Dr. Love kill those other people? I remember seeing the roof scene and she told the ghost of Min-gi who possessed the psychic guy's body that she killed those people all for him?

Wait, did she really killed her two friends? I thought she just drugged them and put them away somewhere.

What two friends are you guys talking about? I'm trying to remember, but I only remember she was responsible for the evil lawyers death, she injected him with something.
And then the psychic guy got a premonition or a vision that Dr. Love would end up dead I am assuming at the hands of the guy she was smiling at when she was waiting for the light to change.

Korea shortly after it opened a while back. That's just my guess.

Quote: On a side note, what is it about these drama girls, who are still hung up on thier dead boyfriends 10 years later?Yeah, and have you noticed that when the story picks up 10 years later, people are acting as though it was yesterday? Example: in this show, the new boyfriend asks her something like, "How long are you going to hide away?" As if the subject is foremost on his mind at that moment even though he's been dealing with her for a long time (evidently, since he wants to get engaged to her). I would think that maybe 1 or 2 years after the guy dies is the time to ask that. Past that point, everyone would have accepted that she can't get over him. I'm not doing a good job of explaining it, but it just seems odd to me.

You are getting to know my cranky points, I guess. I think it's called "Dr. Love" because she's a psychiatrist and her patients come to her for relationship/sex problems? I don't know. Her patients seem to be all across the spectrum. And she, I might add, seems like a pretty crummy psychiatrist; isn't she reading the screen on her desk while her patients natter away? Or is that just how it seems because of the editing?
