Opening the thread so discussion can start when you're ready--so be sure you've actually watched the episode.

Okay I'll start. I love it. Moon Eungeum (am I spelling that right?) does a more creditable imitation of a boy than I've seen some time. Combined with clothing conventions, I can really see her pulling this off. It seems like she's lived as a boy for so long that she's nearly forgotten she's a girl. It makes me wonder how long the charade had been going on, and whether his adoptive family knows.I thought this episode was a good introduction to all the main characters and a set-up for the philosophy of the court and of the dowahseo (royal painting school). No complaints so far.

Can someone please clear something up for me. In the scene where the king is talking to the lady....he calls her grandmother....she is also referred to as the Queen Dowager. Yet, this actress looks rather young to be playing a grandmother. Did I misinterpret something in this scene?

^Historically, the king's grandfather remarried a girl who was 15 years old when the grandfather was around his 50s or 60s
