Twice I can remember Dong Jin telling his wife "As long as you're happy, that's all that matters."
The first time I didn't think anything of it, but when it happened again, I started wondering if this was a premonition for him regretting going through with his new marriage.
He said it the second time in bed with his wife, but he had a distant stare in his eyes and in the next scene we saw him asleep on the couch, to his wife's surprise and what looked like disappointment. Was he having second third and fourth thoughts and maybe thinking that sleeping with her was cheating on Eun ho? His co-workers also remarked how he's "no fun anymore."
Add to that the ending of last night's ep when he ignores the phone call from Angel Wife on his way to find Eun ho on the train and it looks like things are going to get complicated.

Have you watched this whole series, zorro? I've watched the last couple of episodes and am sorry I didn't see all of them (if only to find out why anybody would divorce a woman like her!). Wondering what you think of it. It looks like it's been pretty good.

Wondering what you think of it. It looks like it's been pretty good. It's a shame you missed it from the beginning. It's been one of the best I can remember. The story has held up, and I like every character involved enough where I feel bad that someone has to lose out eventually. I'll really miss this one when it ends next week. It's been almost flawless up to now, so I hope they don't botch the ending. (5 years later and two new kids kinda thing) BTW did you recognize Moon Jung Lee from Iron Empress as Dong JIn's new wife? I was starting to think Ginnycat and I were the only ones watching.

Good heavens, that's Lady Yunheung. She looked a little familiar, but I'm so bad with faces and I haven't seen her do much talking. Great catch--thanks for pointing her out.
Since it's only 16 episodes, I wouldn't mind watching it through on DVD someday...Anyway, I appreciate the recommendation.

Wondering what you think of it. It looks like it's been pretty good. Last episode we found out that the cause of their divorce was a misunderstanding. On the wedding boat, Eun-ho asked the buddy-gynecologist to tell her more of what he had hinted at (forgot the exact words). He told her that Dong-jin had spent the entire night of baby Dong's birth/stillbirth holding the baby. From Eun-ho's point of view, on that night when she really needed him, he was just absent, not by her side comforting her, and he didn't say anything to explain his absence. I think that caused a huge rift in their relationship, and Eun-ho felt that she couldn't trust him anymore. Also they weren't sharing their feelings. I don't think he divorced her so much as he just let her drift away. It won't be fair to "Angel Wife" but I want them to get back together.

Well I could have done without the wrap up of all the supporting cast, especially Eun ho's sister needing a mastectomy. Totally uncalled for. The rest of the drama was splendid, it's the endings I always seem to have a problem with. In fact the last half hour Dong jin and Eun ho were essentially absent while we time travelled to and from the future to see what happened to everyone else. What an irrelevant side trip that was. I would have liked some sort of confrontation with the three most affected characters, Dong jin, his wife, and Eun ho. That would have been more interesting to me than a kindergarten girl asking her mom what love is. At the half hour mark, as Dong jin and Eun ho were walking together after returning from the train ride in the blue cast evening scene, I thought to myself they could have ended it there. We could fill in the rest on our own and a certain degree of uncertainty would leave us wanting more. The actual ending made me feel glad it was over with nothing more to look forward to. Maybe that's good in the long run, but I found myself thinking the best part of the ending was the beginning of "Someday". (which had a much better last episode and ending imo)

I really enjoyed this series and felt rather pleased with the final episode. Perhaps I would have been more disappointed had I not watched the final three episodes in one sitting, but after the emotional rollercoaster of eps.14-15, I found the calm of the final episode rather welcome. Unlike other shows which seem to force some finality, be it joy or sadness, this ending seem to wrap everything up nicely while still conveying a message of the uncertainty of life and how the seemingly mundane of the present may be viewed as a special moment when remembered in the future. Most of all, I enjoyed how Eun-Ho emphasized that as far as she could tell, her life was far from over and she was therefore not capable in making any judgement call as to whether or not we were witnessing a happy ending. " If I look back on this day in the future, happiness crept up on me like a drowsy spring day, I will dare say....I was happy then."

I thought the way it was revealed that Dong jin was misled into thinking Eunho was comtemplating suicide and how it shook him out of his irritating unawareness was a nice touch. I also liked the very end, where the little girl, whose intentions with the boy she liked were misinterpreted, asked her mother, "what is love?" It brought everything around full circle very poetically.
We're going to miss our two terrific Thursday night shows, though it'll be good having movies on then. Thanks, Capt. Video, for the info on the movies!
