From now on for a few episodes Hong Ryeon's life out in Chungcheong Province runs on in parallel with Yun Jang-Hwa's life in Seoul, so I will just treat them separately:
HR's life:
It is the anniversary of the accident, so HR gets an advance on her pay to give money to the family of the deceased for their annual rite. She brings an envelope over to the Han house and bows before Su-chan's sister, Su-ok. She is not friendly and says "you are just bringing the money because you want to feel better." (But she takes it.)
As HR returns to the Dragon House, she sees a man skulking around the place and trying to peep over the walls. She thinks he's a thief and (as Gil-ran runs out of the house to confuse matters) whacks him over the head with an old framed picture which is in the trash because they have been cleaning up the place. But it turns out to be Su-chan. He leaves without explaining what he is doing looking over the walls. Gil-ran concludes he is a "bad person" and won't listen to HR's explanations that they have a "complicated past".
Next day Su-chan shows up at the house and brings back her envelope. He gruffly (but with a good heart) tells her to stop bringing money; it won't bring back his father; he doesn't want his family to hold her back any longer. She is trying to stammer out some protest, but at this point Gil-ran shoots him right in the eye with her slingshot.
YJH's life:
Ms. B gets done torturing YJH's ears and levels some confused insults at her about being cheap and tacky. As she rides back to the house she calls her son "Mister" and soothes herself by listening to Strauss waltzes on the tape system. She seems to be partly living in a privileged and snobbish childhood. On the other hand Kang T'ae-yun flashes back to his own childhood, and at that time, at least, he and his mom were in dire straits; she starved herself for his benefit.
The next day YJH walks in on Ms. B who is cutting some clothing of YJH's into shreds, chattering in a childish way about how Dad says nobody should have these extravagant things. When YJH starts to scold her, she is at first scared, then without warning flips into full outraged Mom-in-law mode and gives YJH hell. Then she cheerfully starts cutting up the clothes again...
YJH leaves in exasperation and goes to her mom's house, but she is still in really a foul mood and starts complaining that her mother doesn't eat enough and is just fighting about anything. On hearing about the situation Mom advises her to have a baby, as that'll get KTY's attention. "I should have a baby to avoid a senile woman??" YJH retorts, and fires back that she's not going to do what Mom did, wrecking her body and then losing her husband to a mistress! She storms off in a worse mood than when she arrived, and goes down to Electron City to talk with her husband.
Well, her husband is trying to track down some kind of industrial spy. There are a lot of references to "vaccines" around here, and I was like what, this guy is a biochemist too? until finally I figured out that "vaccine" should be really translated as "antivirus". Although it's still kind of odd that a guy develops antivirus software and then runs a big mall! Anyway, in order to catch the guy before he gets out of the building, KTY throws a magic switch that completely locks all the doors and security gates, ignoring for a moment the desires of the shoppers. The thief, one Oh Seon-tae, is trapped at the last second in a revolving door. Later his subordinate tells him that Mr. Oh had needed funds for his son's medical care, but KTY is obdurate - "There are lots of people with sick sons who don't steal from the company. I won't forgive a traitor."
An immediate effect of all this business is that YJH is delayed in seeing her husband and has to get shepherded out of the building by a young security guard. This guy is Im Hyeok, and it seems that YJH got him the job. Anyway, while following Hyeok up a stairwell, she starts to get ideas, so she lures him into an unpeopled part of the building, drops her purse, and when he retrieves it, suddenly starts smooching him! End of episode.
