soapy, when he said he was going to see someone, I didn't think he said Hyeonsu, I think he said some other name, one that I didn't recognize. And then last night there was a comment about him going to visit Mrs. Guk, so I'm guessing that was her first name. Apparently he really did go see her. I'm with you, I was sure hoping he'd show up and sit at the head of the church, to do the right thing and give the family some representation. Was disappointed in him. And sorry we didn't get to see Mrs. Guk either. The actress has another show now so I suppose her time is committed to that one.

Like others, I too thought he was going to the wedding ... didn't he even leave with Jisu. Alas, not so much

She must have done a disappearing act like Chowon.

Now I understand how and why I made the mistaken assumption that Gramps was going to the wedding . . the names are so similar and my eyesight is not what it used to be . . so evidently, I read the subtitle incorrectly . . so thanks for clearing that up . .

I also was waiting for grandpa to stroll in to the wedding late. I made the same mistake too!
Thank for the explanation.

I always have to think for a moment when they refer to Sunjeong or Seonyeong. I never actually think of them by name; they're always Jisu's mom and Jisu's other mom to me .

Well, we're in one of those periods where everybody's acting like children again. And the only one showing any progress is...the Gangster Aunt!? Actually being civil to Suin? What is going on here? Please, Mrs. Guk, come back and save us!

"Are you going to live in Japan!?" "Maybe Hiro can live in Korea!" "Does he have any family in Korea?" "We haven't talked about that." Well, we know that you probably will, and the conversation will involve . . . Mrs. Guk!

I had the same reaction. It seems weird that they spent so much time on flimsier reasons for disrupting Hyeonsu's and Suin's relationship, and so much time on the whole what-does-Jisu-know/how-upset-is-Jisu business. Now you've got something that has the potential to be really meaty, with a lot of serious implications, but there are only a few episodes left. Maybe the whole discrimination issue is just something they'd rather not get too heavily into.

Interesting point. You know, KBS has this show, "Love in Asia", about Koreans who have married people from other Asian countries. Usually, the groom is the Korean, and the bride is from a country that is not as economically developed as Korea (I think I've seen a few from India, though). I don't recall any foreign grooms. I should add that I've not watched the show often. Maybe Jisu's family is just concerned with how she might be treated as a foreigner in Japan. Japan has a reputation (deserved or not) of being exclusionary to foreigners. Plus, I can just picture Jisu using the Japanese that Hiro taught her, in Japan.
