Last night’s episode was absolutely hacked to pieces, as anybody who watched it could see. Right off the bat there was trouble; Monday we saw Hunae carted off to jail at the king’s personal order, but when the episode started last night, she was riding around on horseback up in the north, a long distance from the capital and like nothing had ever happened. And who knows what else was missing from later on. It was almost impossible to follow the plot.
What was especially frustrating about it was that the preceding program ran extra-long because of an interminable panel discussion. Rather than give the discussion the editing it needed, they left it intact and chopped the beginning of IE. They ran extra commercials during IE too, probably for the same reason.
I didn’t even try to summarize the episode; I’ve set my VCR to catch the rebroadcast today and am hoping the insanity doesn’t strike twice. (Thanks for the offer in the other thread, ducky; if I need the help I’ll let you know.) It was clear that #25 is one of those episodes where there are plot developments that need to be understood to put future events in context, so hopefully I can at least post a proper summary of the thing.
