Teacher, the movies I've seen all have excellent subtitles. The only problem I had was with a movie called Stolen Life, which was a good film, but they flashed the subtitles way too fast in some portions for me to keep up, and I'm a fast reader. I watched Hula Girls last night and thought it was excellent. For some odd reason it reminded me of Whale Rider… Also in the last few weeks caught Fearless, Jet's last martial arts film, Take Care of my Cat, A Tale of Two Sisters, Bulletproof Monk, Chunking Express, Lady Vengeance, Oldboy, and Summer Palace. But the movie I was impressed with the most lately is The Changeling. Another true story that's stranger than fiction. I highly recommend it, even if it is American.

Thanks Zorro,
I'll have to start paying more attention to movies. Of those you listed, the only one that I saw was Take Care of my Cat.

"Snow Flower and the Secret Fan". Chinese, 2011
Fascinating story based on a best selling novel of the same name. The movie version takes it a step further by presenting it simultaneously in a contemporary and historical perspective.
Excellent performances by Chinese actress Li BingBing and Korean actress Gianna Jun as the sisters/friends in both versions.
Emotionally charged and beautifully done. I highly recommend it.

I just saw War of the Arrows and it is nonstop action, really nonstop. You know how we're always making fun of the TV historical plots where someone gets backed to the edge of a cliff, falls a long long way down and survives? Well wait til you see what happens in this movie when The Cliff makes its appearance.
A fun to watch movie.

^ I was ready to watch this after the game, but it's overtime game...
Maybe tomorrow...
EDIT:
OK, I was going to watch the first 10 minutes, and ended staying up and watched the whole thing. There was some weird stuff at the beginning, but once it got going, I couldn't stop watching.
I have one question. With shipping, YesAsia is selling this movie for $28, but at Amazon the same movie is only $13. How does YesAsia stay in business?

Speaking of Korean movies, I watched 오직 그대만 (Only You) starring So Ji Sup and Han Hyo Joo. The international title for it is Always. It's about a guy who falls in love with a blind girl. He tries to help her get her sight back. The two of them are connected by an odd twist of fate.

Hey, Sageuk, why you no answer my PMs? LOL...
I don't think this "greed" is endemic only to Asians. This whole SOPA/PIPA fight has to do with old-line, meat-space companies not understanding the complexity of the online world or how to deal with it. They keep trying to pound it with old business models, instead of trying a new one. And the online community just whines about "freedom" without putting forth any constructive suggestions about combating piracy, which is a legitimate problem. I know things will change, but I hope they get better instead of worse.

Hate to shatter the illusion but Yes Asia is mainly staffed by Anglo's ,i have actually been to their office in The South Bay . They are just savvy Asian Film Buffs who got into importing in demand Asian goods ,most of their income comes from anime and k and j pop idol stuff ,films and dramas are the least of what they sell .

They keep trying to pound it with old business models, instead of trying a new one. And the online community just whines about "freedom" without putting forth any constructive suggestions about combating piracy, which is a legitimate problem. The complaints stem from SOPA/PIPA being more about internet censorship than addressing piracy. If the MPAA/RIAA truly want to get to the root of the problem, they'll first need to clean their own house. It's already been proven that some of the piracy comes from within. Then they need to find a way to stop the content from getting on the internet. Once it's on the internet, the battle is already lost. Shutting down sites like megaupload might hurt the downloaders but it does little to deter those who make the content available for download. They also have to somehow convince China and Russia, the world leaders when it comes to piracy, to take a more proactive approach in dealing with it. Unless they can do all that, it's a lost cause, regardless of what measures or laws they put in place.

Yes, I agree with you about all that, Knov1, and I protested implementation of these bills and still do. China and Russia are big problems, and so is in-house piracy. However, the President has called for the online community to suggest some ways to battle piracy that do not go the way of SOPA/PIPA, and all I've seen so far is a bunch of whining. Like, if you've got a better idea, please put it forth.
So to speak. ;D.
