The Hobbit: Battle of the Five ArmiesI seem to be one of the few people in the world who actually likes the first two Hobbit movies. Sadly, I cannot say the same for this one. Add me to the few people in the world, too! Like you said in another post, "Hobbit" 1 and 2 can't be compared to "LOTR" but that's to be expected, but still I loved them both. And I'm very sad to hear 3 is not good. But I'm an optimist so maybe I'll still like it. *fingers crossed* A whole bunch of us went to see "The Imitation Game." It was VERY good. For two whole hours I was virtually in another world. The movie was very well done and Benedict Cumberbatch was just excellent. There were seven of us and the feeling was unanimous.

We went to see "The Hobbit" the third one, and I'm happy to report - I LOVED it! Even my husband, who is not a Peter Jackson fan, liked it very much. Made me sad cuz he never watched the LOTR trilogy. I told him it made me so sad cuz it was like appreciating one corner of the Mona Lisa when not having gotten to look at the whole beautiful painting. The whole movie was like seeing all my old friends again. I adore Richard Armitage (LOVE his voice!) and I thought Martin Freeman was great too. Fabulous battle scenes and the love between the dwarf and the elf was so touching. Loved the man with his three kids. And Legolas of course. Someone said they didn't like Legolas in "The Hobbit" as much as in LOTR, that he looked angry all the time. My husband said, "Well wouldn't you be mad too if the one you loved threw you over for a dwarf?" At the end of the movie (we stayed till the very end, until the screen went blank and the lights came on - I refused to budge until then), when the credits started rolling, I clapped when Richard Armitage's name came on screen. Then clapped again when Benedict Cumberbatch's name appeared. Then again when the fat, red-headed dwarf came on (my fave dwarf). Every time I clapped everyone tried to stop me - they were all so embarrassed. But I didn't care. What is Peter Jackson gonna do now? (My hubby promised to watch with me next time I do a LOTR marathon. Yeay!! -or that he would try.)

I recently saw the Korean movie "The General's Son," the story of Kim Duhan and his rise to prominence as a gangster who fights the yakuza. It stars Park Sangmin, whom I believe many of us have seen in many roles. Its titled "The General's Son" due to his father being a famous freedom fighter who won a huge victory against the Japanese, though his blood relations is rarely brought up in the movie. Check it out here:
Trying to watch Nichiren and the Mongol Invasion, which came out in the 50s. Then I'm gonna try a black and white Jang Heebin movie.

Best performance as a scheming minx ever, Kim Ji-mi. Nichiren And The Mongol Invasions is superb, Raizo Ichikawa and Shintaro Katsu alone make it worth while . Also the 2001 Taiga Drama Hojo Tokimune which covers the same subject( and a sympathetic depiction of Goryeo under Mongol rule )is also on YT ,and subtitled .

Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)Christian wants Anastasia to do all sorts of kinky stuff with him because he's had a rough life. Tazza: The Hidden Card (2014)Dae Gil (Choi Seung Hyun aka TOP from Big Bang) and Mina (Shin Se Kyung) are gamblers out for revenge against the people who ripped them off. TOP is shirtless in Tazza which means bird11 will most likely enjoy it.

I saw Tazza:The Hidden Card in the theater, and I thought it was much better than Top's last film-- Commitment (the description to that movie lead me to believe one thing and it was much more guns/violence that I was expecting). The Hidden card was much better storyline, showed more depth in TOP's acting -- seeing TOP shirtless -- yeah, I was not that impressed , it almost seemed "faked" (bet you were not expecting that response, Knov!) Gonna watch again when it comes to Netflix........gotta see TOP again and maybe change my opinion on a Topless TOP

Taken 3 (2014)
No ***** were given during the making of this movie.
Last Knights (2015)
I was hoping for a better film but figured out early on that wouldn't be the case.

Usually this thread is for films that already came out, but hype train. And we MAY like it when it comes out.

The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014 - Korean film)
Movie about Yi Soon Shin and the battle of Myeongnyang. The first half is kinda slow. The action is all in the second half. I understand that most Koreans already know about Yi Soon Shin but they could have given moviegoers more backstory for a 2 hour film.
The Boy Next Door (2015)
A high school teacher gets involved with the young hot guy next door. He turns out to be nothing but trouble.
There's a trailer out for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
