I had to comment on Episode 48 (even though Phila is a few episodes behind NY). I laughed at the ending. Mokjong had just decided to go to a gisaeng house, when who pops up but the former Queen, his foster mother. That's gotta put a damper on things. ;D I'm very disappointed with her hooking up with the Liao princess. Yeah, the former Queen wants revenge, but how on earth can she trust the Princess from the country that recently attacked Goryeo?!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I was disappointed with the king's behaviour but I now see he simply wants out altogether. It's a mess.

The King, or should I say, Emperor, is sooo whiny he's getting on my nerves! Sheesh! I can't see why he can't deal with his mother. Other than the time she tried to kill her own brother (in the failed coup while traveling to the shrine) she hasn't been all that blood thirsty and cruel. She's pardoned people left and right, and it leaves no impression on him.

Does Goryeo translate into English as Neverland where you dont grow up or age??? Other than the 2 Emperors & Kim the evil Jurchen having beards now, no one else has aged in the 10 years since it started(there have been 2 five year fast forwards). All of the women look exactly as they did when the show started. There is a little gray in some of the men's beards but that is it. What a great place to live!!!

How old is Hunae's nephew supposed to be now? Cause he's baffling me here.

You've got the point and I know what you exactly thinking. You must know these royalty women don't age much, they don't have to work hard and they consume all the best foods as well as they've got special beauty treatment.

Prince Daeryang was a toddler when Gamchan found him, maybe about four. He should be fourteen by now and it did look sort of like he could be when he trudged off to the monastery with his shaved head.
The no-aging thing is jarring but Hunae does look more brittle and Chiyang is sallow and puffy. Maybe the actors are supposed to CONVEY aging and some of them do it better than others.
The more I watch the actress playing Empress Xiao the more I wish she could have gotten the Iron Empress part. She's handsome and regal and fierce but, if you see her in Jolly Widows, she can also be tender. Chae Shira (do I have the name right?) is very disappointing as Hunae. I'm afraid I spend most of my time when she's on the screen wondering if her hairpiece is going to fall off.

Brooklyn, According to Wikipedia, the Lady's son was born in 980 and became Emperor in 997. Her nephew was born in 992 & became Emperor in 1009. So he is 17 years younger. If the Emperor is 24, that would make Prince Dary 7. He looked about that when he was tilling the field with the Minister dude.

Thanks Dodgerman!! Wiki made an error there though I think, Hunae's nephew would be 12 years younger. I can definitely see him being at least 12 now.
Gotta admit, puppy, when both empresses were standing on the hillside conversing, I was comparing the size of their hair and Hunae's really is huge.

Now that we have been cut off from ALL KBC dramas, I will have to rely on your forum to find out what is going on. We are having very serious problems here in the Chicago area.

I read somewhere on this Board that they cut it short (around the the 60's) because of so-so ratings.

Yes, I heard about it going to 78 after initially hearing of 66 episodes. I keep losing track of which episode we're on in NY, but it's not that many to go now; 20+?

Has Kim Woonsong's voice changed or am I imagining things? I thought it was higher pitched. Every time I hear him talk, I'm surprised at the deep voice.
