When Suin invited Stalker Girl into Hyeonsu's place, SG put on a pair of slippers. Suin was also wearing slippers. I know that people take their shoes off when they enter a home but do the homeowners keep sets of Guest Slippers to use-- Like rental shoes at a bowling alley. Do the guests just slip on whichever pair they fit into and disregard the fact that someone else's feet have been there first???

Believe it or not, dodgerman, I have guest slippers. I have very light carpet in my house, and I hate when people don't take off their shoes, so I offer them a pair of slippers (which I bought in Chinatown) or blue surgical booties. I know it's kind of weird, but I tell them it's because I adopted the Korean culture as my own!

I do the same, its my house my rules, no one should get offended. It is just the right thing to do upon entering someone elses home.

It's really a good idea considering how much Korean families do on the floor; sanitary too. I tried to adopt it but got tired of reminding everybody and some even took offense!
I'm always amazed at how everybody is so comfortable on the floor with their knees crossed under them and no back support, even the older folk. Koreans must have strong backs from years of sitting that way. I know I couldn't do iu, not at my age anyway.

Actually, I thought I heard somewhere here that there are a lot of knee problems among the elderly in Korea, but you'd never know from a k-drama. Perhaps that is incorrect information.
As for the slipper issue, I believe many people keep a box of slippers that are easily laundered and cycle them out. Finally, we do frequently see people just slipping off their shoes and walking in stocking feet, which really accomplishes the same, but could be hard on the nylons. However, their floors appear very shiny and smooth due to daily DIL scrubbings no doubt. Also, in case of cold feet, the floors are generally heated from underneath due to people sitting, sleeping and walking in their stocking feet on them...
