Back in the old movies, women would get "The Vapors" when something bad happened and be shuffled off to the bedroom. Sabby's adopted Mom, Subins's screechy Mom & Hosae's Mom all got sick and rushed into bed(with their clothes on) when their children do something they dont like. Now, Suin's Mom is "sick" after hearing about the pregnancy. Is it an attack of the vapors?

Whatever it is, I think it is a close relative of what I call "Korean Love Sickness": someone facing difficulties in their romance becomes bedridden with a high fever. Always, the high fever.

... but so far nobody's been carried to the hospital where they magically lie in bed with hair and makeup in place ... and sometimes even in their street clothes rather than the always attractive hospital patient attire.

But then they yank the IV needle out of their own arms, and walk out of the hospital without being discharged.

Well, yeah, but did someone carry the person to the hospital on his back when they had copious bleeding or internal injuries and there were plenty of cabs around not to mention the immediate availability of ambulances all over Seoul? Did they? If not, I think this must not be a true K-drama.
"Korean Love Sadness"--kekekeke...

But then they yank the IV needle out of their own arms, and walk out of the hospital without being discharged. YES! That's just the best. Just yank that puppy out of therer and head out the door. And when they leave they look really well put together, and they don't even have to go to the cashier to work out payment. When they're carried to the hospital there never seems to be a stop to fill out insurance forms. That Korean Love Sadness seems to be a very treatable affliction.

I think they're all going to end up with the vapors pretty soon. They all go into hock and ruin their livelihoods and even their house-ownership security to help each other (after lots of duress) and it all goes for naught. They're all going to be on the street if something good doesn't happen soon. Is this being written to make people feel better, because the economy is in such awful shape? We need some comic relief!
