Oh hell yes ? I know the Koryo Kings has an "incest is best policy" (Its all relative in Koryo )(sorry bout bad jokes !!!)because they wanted to keep the bloodline pure as such this caused no small amount of havoc amongst the younger off spring and various factions that lined up to curry favor and back their own candidate by fair or foul means .

So will this air around 8:00 pm Chicago time? Monday and Tuesday, beginning tonight, 3/10?

By all indications, yes. If that's the case, then we'll get a dedicated show board set up in the next day or two and will sort out the different schedules, spoiler issues, etc. on that board.

Now that we have a dedicated board...This is the series thread from the Other Shows board, which we've moved to this board because of the good photos and introductory information it contains. Also, just as an FYI there's a thread in the Visitors' Center with more photos and info: deiner.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=visit&action=display&thread=7832Thanks to everyone who took the time to share this early material with the rest of us.

His character hasn't shown much sense of humor so far though, but it's great to see him anyway.

Empress starts here in NYC this weekend or next, and after reading all the Chicago posts, I'm so excited about it. I LOVE the historicals. They seem less silly than the contemps altho there were a few non-sequitors and filler scenes in Dae Joyeong.
I read in the NJ/NY spoiler thread that Empress runs 160 episodes. Is this true? Did they start out with 60 or 80 and ratchet up as viewer interest grew?

puppy, the information we've had here has always been 80 episodes for Iron Empress. I saw that 160 figure in the other thread and it puzzled me. Maybe your station is going to break the episodes into half-hours; that's the only thing I can think of.
Anyway, on Friday I'll set up a thread for you so you can have a NYC discussion going if you want, on your own episode schedule (so you don't run into spoilers from other threads). Depending on what the Philadephia station does, we might be able to have one combined "East Coast" thread, which would be fun for all of you.

160 !!!!!!!!!!Ooooohhhhh Noooooooo (sob !!)(weeping ,wailing sounds !!!!!!!) oh i hope not . We are up to 18/19 and this was the first week i did not even bother to watch it . Having a sever GKS withdrawl i picked up "Yi San "from the Library and 15 episodes into that and i really like it ,not as much as GKS but its similar . Im keeping quiet until you guys get to the mid 20's than im curious if anybody will feel the same way about this as i (and i think Truth )do .

Just for the record, “Yi San” has some real ups and downs. There were a few times when I came away feeling a little bored, but then there were some stretches (such as watching the assassination plot unfold during the Chinese New Year’s celebration) that were about as suspenseful as anything I’ve seen on television.
The evil queen ended up as my favorite character - she was a truly scary, and yet absolutely believable villainess. And I'd rank the elderly king a close second (odd how the secondary characters really stole the show for me).
“Yi San” isn’t the greatest historical drama ever (if anything, it’s more of a love story in a historical setting) but it’s still well above average overall, and certainly worth sticking with.

I like the idea of an East Coast thread for Iron Empress, ajk. Thank you.
