;D It'[s been a long time since we planned a gathering for our members. Any interest in having a gathering to celebrate the END of YAMD?
Would we be able to have it at the church again?
Any suggestions? Thanks - I think we could celebrate the ending of this overly sorry, umn, story and maybe have a little contest as to the best ending WE would have preferred.
Any interest?

Any interest in having a gathering to celebrate the END of YAMD? Oh, that's so right on! ;D And it would be a most well-deserved sendoff, too. YAMD is the worst KBS daily since "My Precious Child." Who, here, ever imagined that another show might come along to challenge the all-time champion? Too bad I live in Arizona - I'd want to make that get-together for sure.

If anyone's interested in a get together in NY/NJ -- I'm up for one!

I'm always up for a party, especially since I don't think we'll have much more snow or ice here in Chicago.

Perhaps it would be more fitting to call it a Memorial Gathering with the crepe draped picture of the cast, rather than a "cheer party".

Am I the only person who doen't hate this show? I mean, I don't think it's very good, but it's not like a 'Sweetheart' or 'Precious Child/Lovely Family'. Until lately, the plot kept rolling along, even if it was strictly formulaic (it's gotten real d r a g g y lately, though, I must say). And, because it's no 'Yellow Hankerchief'/'So this Is Love'/'Bizarre Bunch', I don't get all bent out of shape if I happen to miss an ep. But, yeah, how 'bout a party?

Not that I necessarily want to defend My Precious Child, but this one from what I've seen, Pure in Heart and My Sweetheart, My Darling had it all over that show in terms of cumulative irritation, although I suppose I owe thanks to them for breaking the cycle of watching daily dramas that began with One Million Roses, which wasn't a very good show either! My Precious Child started out very promisingly, more so than any daily drama I've seen, but derailed so completely that some of us are still shaking our heads, yet the derailment itself was fascinating in a pretty funny way. But was it the worst? It's not even in the bottom three. (It's close, though!) Still, goodbye YAMD. We won't miss you!

Yes, the derailment of "Precious Child" was striking, and it all occurred over about three episodes, mostly off-screen. Probably just as bad a degradation was "Can Love Be Refilled?", but it happened slowly, so you didn't notice at first, but after two weeks you were like, "What happened to the Mom's ghost?" and "Why did they write out the youngest sister's plotline??." And then they started adding clowns . . .

Sorry to not have seen this thread. I have simply been screaming busy and if I get to the board, I only usually look at the thread of whatever historical drama I am into at the time.
Yes, we can use the church for a gathering. We do have quite a busy schedule for facility usage as we do a lot of community service stuff, but throw out a date and if there is nothing scheduled, we're good to go.
Ken and Joanie, if I don't check the board often, when you see me let me know if something starts to gel here, OK?
David

Would a Saturday or Sunday AFTER Easter and Pasach be an optimum time for most people? Hopefully, we will be free of ice and snow by that time - don't rule out rain though. Your input will be most welcome. ;D Thanks again to Pastor David and the congregation for their generosity for the use of the church; it is most appreciated. Kamsa hamnida

;D Hi All interested persons, I am working on putting up a poll to see which date is most convenient for the majority and also to clear it with Pastor David BEFORE we decide . . so it may take a few days to get everything together. Lucy has kindly given me detailed instructions on how to post a poll and - gee- hope I can do it successfully. I will post the poll as soon as possible . . we don't want to make it so long after that we forget all of our anxieties suffered watching this . . LOL . . ;D -

Soapy, if you have any trouble, just send me your questions and answer choices via PM and I'll set up the poll for you. Might as well make myself useful around here since I gave up on the show long ago!
