Bae-guk started a rebellion. There were signs of trouble for a while now and I'm wondering why no one saw this coming sooner.
Ma-ro has become less annoying lately. He's been replaced by the crown princess as #1 on the "characters that need to go asap" list. Speaking of her, what's with the crown princess slapping people? She seems to slap someone in every episode.
When Ma-ro took Ma-hwang to where Yeon was hiding, how is it no one noticed the soldier in full body armor following them?
Shame about the captain of the royal guards. While I'm on the subject of the royal guards, I thought they were supposed to be highly trained soldiers. They got wiped out fairly quick.
This drama is doing the same thing that I disliked about EOTS and DJY. One moment a character is surrounded with no way of escaping and the next they miraculously found a way out of trouble. There's no explanation. The viewer is just expected to roll with it. These "near death & live to fight again" situations are fine when used once or twice, not when used in every other episode.

I agree they do take a lot of liberties. My biggest beef with last night's show was one minute we see Mu-hyool and Do-jin screaming and lunging at each other with swords drawn, and the next… it's morning and MH "escaped" to Jolbon. What did I miss?? But I'm still liking this one more than the other two you mentioned. Maybe the secret is with only 36 episodes, the show has to move along without all the filler episodes made for ratings. I like all the bad guys and the Crown Princess too. I only have issues with Dae-so, and the Head Senator looked a little too much like Kenny Rodgers… I'm starting to wonder if the prophecy from the Shaman will still come to pass. Even though it doesn't seem like it'll be MH's fault, it still seems to be a real possibility, especially with these recent developments.

There sure is a lot of eavesdropping going on. I think the Empress and her weaselly brother need to go too. Along with what you both mentioned, nobody thought to check King Yuri for weapons and immediately after Muhyul leaves after giving the order to watch Dojin closely, the guards believe the order saying he's being transferred!? Dojin is beyond redemption, Muhyul should have killed him. The same goes for Baegeuk.

I think a lot of people will feel upset by the time we get to 36 and think back to those episodes in the teens where the plot just seemed to drag and nothing seemed to be happening ,And than people will get angry that so much time was wasted .
If anyone watched last years "Legend "than you will notice the two stories are more than a little similar .
