Just curious. If you are, please confirm that episode 8 airs 1/26.
I am watching the show on some DVDs that were translated to English with the Chinese names (instead of the Korean), so I am having a little trouble figuring out what the Korean names are, but I am determined to succeed. Other than that, the subtitling is not bad.
I look forward to our discussions--this is a really good show.

Yeah, I've been wonderin' that myself.
Since I can't seem to find the hi-rez DVDs I burned of the show two years ago, I made a point to tune in Tuesday night.
Right away, I remembered how cool a show this is/was. It was ep 7, so ep 8 ought to air on the 26th.
Kind of a bonus: although I remember the general tone of the show, I can't remember exactly all of what happens, so I can watch it without being spoiled too bad.

I tried watching this ... I guess I can chalk it up to historical-drama withdrawal. For so long M and TU nights I enjoyed the historical dramas and the transition was just too difficult.

Aww. That's too bad. Maybe we can talk you into watching again. Once I figure out who Wu Wianxtse is...lol...
Bo
PS - I made that up. They're similar to that, though.

I'm with kathleen on this one; Monday/Tuesday has become a habit, but I must admit it's nice to have a little break from it, even as fun as the historicals are. Plus, I did watch the start of the first episode and it was getting into paranormal stuff, which I have zero tolerance for, drama or not. But if people are enjoying it, then I'm glad that the time slot is at least holding an audience.

I thought the story was great the first time around, and as a matter of fact, I even recorded it. But it is too "dark" a story for me to watch a second time. I had a bit of a problem with the darkness of "Cruel Love" also, although I loved the actors.

Hmmm, hmmm, Kathleen, even if I say.... YSS!!!!! LOL. The guy who played the "bad friend" in YSS, Chunsu. He's a good guy in this one, though. It's very good so far. Bo

There was another Korean drama that did that... and I tried very hard to overlook paranormal... but after a time, OFF was the only place to go.

I'm curious why that is. I think paranormal stuff is neato and entertaining. No judgment attached to this--I'd just be interested to hear why it's such a turn-off.

It's hard to explain but let me try. While I actually believe in paranormal stuff ... even that other planets have the possibility of life. But I guess I like my dramas straight up ... and I don't even know how to explain that silly comment. I think paranormal injection interferes with the basic storyline. I believe I'll quit now because as I read it back, it doesn't answer your question at all.

Oh I don't mind it as entertainment. But what I do mind is that huge numbers of gullible people give their money to astrologers and psychics and they're just plain getting swindled. Even police departments have given tax dollars to psychics. It's a real sore spot of mine and this isn't the place to rant about it, but I just don't want to watch the kind of show where paranormal stuff is treated as an accepted part of life.
By the way, kathleen, the possibility of life on other planets isn't paranormal at all; it's very possible that some form of life has developed someplace else. It's the subject of a lot of legitimate astronomical work. Where it crosses into paranormal is when people start believing that UFOs are landing in Mississippi swamps and looking for humans to insert their probes into. (I wouldn't watch that show either--yecch.)

So neither of you watched The X Files?? That was an amazing show other than Mulder never being scared of anything. (He said the crew was right there, what was there to be afraid of?) But to answer Bo's question, I watched the first time around and tho I wanted to like it, it was almost all style, and no real substance to grab me in. Still it did have one of the best transitions I've seen yet on a K-Drama, and the cinematography was elegant.

One of the things I like about the "paranormal" stuff here is that right beside the character of Hae-in, who apparently has a true "gift" of "seeing" (although presented nonsensically in some ways but that's a different thread), as I said, right beside her is her best friend, I call her Madame Butterfly she-so-fluttery, who CLEARLY is running a scam operation (I love this character, BTW). She is constantly heard whispering into people's ears crud like, "I have to tell you a secret. Tell no one!" and imparting bogus clients' names or ridiculous national secrets. So it presents both sides of the coin. I guess my attitude is, if it's entertaining, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief. I happen to find the use of the paranormal in this drama supremely entertaining.
Zorro - What do you mean by "transitions"? I do not understand this term. I agree, it's very elegantly presented and shot. I guess it's short on substance, but as I said, for the sake of entertainment... ;D Bo

Bo, The "transition" I'm referring to happens in ep 17 and involves elevator doors. It's perfect. If you can't wait that long, humblestudent2 refers to it in his "Reflections" thread in the old forum. I tried to find my original post about it, but can't for the life of me. Talk about paranormal…
