From Chicagolandradio and media.com: WTTW does not wish to lose any of it's bunny ears viewers, so to help them stay connected, they will be holding this all-day, drop-in, open house-style info session to help educate people and provide the needed information about this big change. WTTW personalities, engineers and staff members will answer questions, provide hands-on demonstrations on how to hook up a converter box to a TV set, and help troubleshoot any technical difficulties. Visitors can also take a tour of the WTTW studios and learn more about the station and it's upcoming programs. This will take place on Saturday, January 17th from 10:00am - 4:00pm at the WTTW studios, 5400 N. St. Louis Ave., in Chicago. The event is 100% FREE, but reservations are required, since the space is limited. To reserve a space, call WTTW Member Services at 773-509-1111, ext. 6, or click on the link: www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=47.1,4.

Thanks, Ramm. Although this doesn't seem to have anything to do with Korean TV, it's good to have the info.

Why wouldn't his effect WOCH? If there happened to be an emergency service; police, hospital,EMS,Fire, greedy politician, ect couldn't they request the NTSC band for their social/governmental, or political use? Wasn't the caveat for low power exclusion for areas that didn't have a large need for emergency service communication?

ajel, I don't know what you mean. Are you asking why WOCH doesn't have to go digital? I believe there is a thread discussing that in the Generals section. Ramm's post seems to discuss how WTTW is coping with the situation.

Just to clarify. WOCH is not changing to digital after February 17, 2009. They are a low power station and are not required to transition like the full power stations. A lot of people don't understand this because most of the ads about DTV just say that all television is changing to digital, when that isn't true.
