Bo, You're very funny. Have you ever thought of writing a comic book? Hehe. Since you didn't like the hairless Peruvian dog, I found another breed for you. It's Hairless American Terriers. I think the Obama family will like them. Please read the article below.
Hairless American terriers could solve Barack Obama's daughter's pet allergy problem
By Aidan McGurran 15/11/2008
The US president-elect promised daughters Malia 10, and seven-year-old Sasha they could have a puppy when they live in the White House.
But Barack, 47, hasn't a clue which dog to get because little Malia suffers from severe allergies and needs a hypoallergenic dog that won't shed fur. UK breeder of these hairless American terriers, Michael Daniels, 36, said: "I would love Barack to take on one of my terriers. They are number one breed for any allergic sufferers. The girls would adore them." (mirror.co.uk)
Besides being intelligent and handsome, they're truly American dogs. I believe Malia and Sasha would love to have one of them. What do you think?
I'm worried about the actresses in the article below. They're alarmingly thin.
The next body “line” November 16th, 2008 // by javabeans
Watch out, S-line, W-line, U-line, M-line, and V-line, there’s a new line on the block, which means it’s only a matter of time before the “I-line” becomes the new aspirational goal for the body-image-obsessed.
As you may know, S-lines refer to a woman’s curves, to put it nicely (or tits-n-ass, to put it more bluntly). The V-line refers to a thin face without all that face pudge or, yunno, pesky jawbone marring the way to an ideal oval shape. (Jaw shaving is a popular procedure for this.) A second V-line refers to cleavage. And now, netizens have coined the “I-line” to refer to the stick-thin figures of actresses like Jung Ryeo-won, above, or the newly slimmed Han Ji-hye, below.
The article refers to the I-line in a context of too thin, but you know it’s going to be taken by some as something to aspire to, and that’s just silly because nobody looks good in the shape of an I. The term seems to be pointed at actresses who aren’t merely thin but recently thin, Jung being a prime example. The response comes after seeing new pictures of her at a public appearance on November 13, to which the actress showed up looking alarmingly thin and with a face so slimmed that it was described as “sunken” and “hollow.” She had reportedly started an exercise and diet regimen for a movie, Melos, but is now worrying fans with the continued weight loss.
Another actress drawing concerns is Han Ji-hye, who recently posted unofficial CF photos on her mini-homepage, stating herself that “I think I’ve lost too much weight. I should probably eat more…”
Other celebs indicated as part of this trend include Choi Ji-woo and Boa, who’ve both displayed slimmer physiques lately, prompting fan concerns of anorexia.

Is it a new trend in showbiz? That's scary!

It isn't just that their slim, they're scary! I've noticed this trend for a long time. It's always their arms that give them away. Also, I don't know why they do this, because it makes their hips and heads look too big. Who wants a big head and big hips?
Bo
PS - I like that dog, and I like the Peruvian dog. I think the problem for Obama is, he would really like to get a dog from a shelter. Also, a dog that is commonly recommended is a Westie, which my inlaws have because of their various allergies. He's a cute little dog, very friendly, tends to chase little baby rabbits though--can't help himself...

NENEThanks for the news about Jet Li.I personally don't care for those hairless, toothless dogs.Speaking of dogs, have you heard this story?DAILY NEWS Thursday, November 20th 2008A dog left in his master's idling van just wouldn't stay in his barking space - and wound up crashing into a Long Island coffee shop Wednesday night, police said.
The short but ruff ride by Bentley, a 50-pound mutt owned by musician Bryan Maher, ended without anyone getting hurt - just a lot of head scratching by witnesses at Cool Beanz in St. James, L.I.
"I ran inside the coffee house to sign up for open-mike night, and I left my car running because it's cold outside and I didn't want my dog to freeze," said Maher, 60. "The next thing I knew, I looked up to see my van coming at me in the window, with Bentley in the driver's seat grinning at me."
"Aw, Bentley was wagging his tail afterward," said McCarthy. "He really is a sweet dog."
"Bentley will be getting a nice doggie coat for Christmas," Maher said. That man that does the origami is quite talented. I think the Koi carp is best too. He certainly has patience.I enjoyed seeing the historical ruins in Lopburi and read the interesting article about King Narai. Thanks for sharing that.

tinkerbell, You're welcome. I like the hairless American Terriers I posted earlier but the toothless ones are kind of creepy, hehe. I like Bentley's story. He's so intelligent and very sweet. It's a miracle that nobody was hurt. What kind of dog is Bentley? He seems to be a good companion. Thank you so much for posting that story here. Loved it.
I stumbled across an amazing story to share with you.
Duck attacked by carp
A duck received a nasty surpise when he went to feed in a lake full of Koi carp.
Last Updated: 4:56PM GMT 17 Nov 2008 Hundreds of carp surround and repel a hungry duck in Changsha, Hunan Province, China Hundreds of carp surround and repel a hungry duck in Changsha, Hunan Province, China Photo: REX FEATURES
The bird, clearly used to getting his own way when looking for dinner, headed confidently into the shoal of fish in Changsha, in China's Hunan Province
But the colourful carp took exception to the intruder and fought back, bunching together into a seething mass to assert their authority.
The duck quickly surrendered and fled the scene, doubtless still feeling peckish. (Telegraph.co.uk) Whoa! I never thought that those carp would immediately counter attack and chased the hungry duck away. Wow, Koi carp are not only beautiful but also very intelligent.
Eight-toe baby born in Guangdong 2008-11-09 09:35:58 GMT2008-11-09 17:35:58 (Beijing Time) China Daily A baby boy with eight toes on each foot was discharged from a hospital in Leizhou, southeast Guangdong province on November 5, 2008. The baby has five fingers on each hand but doesn't have thumbs. Doctor said this might have something to do with genetics or environment pollution. (english.sina.com)
Sorry tinkerbell I have to show you this picture. I know it's kind of depressing but it's educational. Remember Gemma, the new Bond girl? She disclosed that she and her dad were born with six fingers on both hands. In her case, I think it's a genetic condition but I'm not sure about this little boy. I found KMM's pictures to cheer you up.

jinju, I was shocked when I read the news on javabeans " Lee Seo-jin dumps Kim Jung-eun". OMG, I thought they're about to annonce their wedding plan very soon. How could that be? It caught me completely by surprise. There's no sign of fighting at all. I really love and admire this couple. I'm still in shock! Splitsville: Lee Seo-jin dumps Kim Jung-eun
November 21st, 2008 // by javabeans Say it ain’t so!
One of the most openly affectionate couples in the K-entertainment sphere, who were largely expected to announce wedding plans sometime soon (possibly even this year), has instead broken it off.
Kim Jung-eun and Lee Seo-jin started dating while filming the 2006 SBS drama Lovers, and had been going strong ever since. In the two years they had been dating, they were one of a few celebrity couples who were open about their relationship status (many others choose to be coy, denying rumors even when they’re obvious to the public), and were occasionally seen in public on dates together. Both stars were effusive in praise about the other, and Lee Seo-jin even appeared on Kim Jung-eun’s variety show (Chocolate) to serenade her with a love song, singing the same love theme that marked their characters’ romance in the drama Lovers. The two traveled to the U.S. together as recently as this summer, and shot a fashion spread together in New York in September.
So it’s a bit of a shock to hear from Kim Jung-eun’s own lips that the couple is no more. She admitted it in press interviews on November 22, saying she couldn’t keep lying to the public further — the split occurred at the end of October. It’s particularly surprising since the couple hadn’t given signs of much trouble or fighting leading up to this news.
Kim confessed that it was a one-sided decision; Lee initiated the breakup, which came as a shock to her. She fought tears as she conducted her interview, saying, “It felt like I’d been in an unexpected car accident” and “I felt like I’d been shot.”
She admits that it’s difficult dealing with the shock of the breakup, and had just begun work on her new series General Hospital 2 when Lee dumped her. The drama just began airing this Wednesday on MBC.
I’m sure there are two sides to every story (although I wonder if Lee will suffer more, since he already had a bit of a rep for cool breakups), but still: AWW.

Who's LHR? According to discussions on javabeans he dumped her too. Wow, I was totally surprised. I was really confused. I don't know what to think. Anyhow, I chose to believe that LSJ is a good man and he wouldn't do such a thing. I still hope this is not true. They're such a sweet couple. Read more here.

nene, i am in complete shock too! i wonder what was the problem they seemed so happy. maybe she didn't want to wait any longer to get married and he wanted to wait. in any case, it's very sad.thanks for the info. i hope that they still remain friends, but that may not be true. i don't know who LHR is. like the article said there are two sides to a story.

jinju, I'm still sad. I didn't see this one coming. They're one of the most beloved couples in Korea. I like both of them a lot. They look very lovely together in this picture.
According to coolsmurf, LSJ broke up with KJE over the phone. If it's true, I think that's a bit cruel. Anyhow, we have to wait a few more days for the whole truth to come out. I hope they will remain good friends too. I wish both of them all the best.
Btw, I just found out that LHR is the famous singer Lee Hyo Ri. Have you ever heard about her before? I've seen her pictures here and there but have no idea that LSJ used to date her. Here's her picture.
Good news from HXM! He's in another new series "Hidden Fragrance". I found the story and some pictures to share with you.
Huang Xiaoming Has New Image In TV Series
2008-11-21 15:12:49 CRIENGLISH.com Chinese mainland actor and singer Huang Xiaoming breaks away from his suave image in his latest TV series 'Hidden Fragrance', or 'An Xiang' in Chinese.
Photos spread on sohu.com revealed Huang's new style, looking cool with a pair of goggles and beach shorts.
Huang co-stars with mainland actress Wang Luodan, known as 'Mi Lai' in the TV series 'Fen Dou'.
The 30-episode TV series started shooting one month ago in Sanya, Hainan Province. It is expected to hit the screens next year.
WooHoo! They call him "Actor and Singer Huang Xiaoming". That's great! I think his new series is a romantic comedy. Do you like his new style? I think he looks great. Can't wait to see this new series. Another good news, his new movie "Fit Lover" that you told me earlier will hit theaters in China November 28. I hope it will be released on dvd soon. I'm watching Royal Tramp ep 9 right now. Yay, mysoju just added 3 more eps. I hope they'll continue, if not I have to buy it too. Thank you so much for telling me. The drama that I'm dying to see is Shanghai Bund. I think it's HXM's best series so far. If you know where to buy this series, please let me know too. Thank you.

I'm only on episode 1 but I really like it so far. How is everyone over here? I see you guys started a new thread. :oThat poor duck. I didn't know that carp attack.

NENEBently is a boxer and Shar-Pei mix. His owner won't leave him behind the wheel alone again.I've never seen so many Koi carp in my life. Poor duck, maybe the fish were hoping to get a duck dinner. HeheI can't believe that boy was born with 8 toes and no thumbs! It must be more common than we think. Thanks for the pictures of Kim Myung-min. They are very nice. I wonder who the flowers are for? In one of the pictures there is a little boy. Is that his son?Have you read this story yet? After 85 Years, First Gremlin Found Alive Everyone should know about Gremlins. They are those little furry creatures that if you get them wet, they multiply and if you feed them after midnight, they turn pretty evil.Hiding in the mountaintops of a cloud forest in Indonesia, these little Gremlins weigh about 2 ounces, have large eyes, claws instead of fingernails, and are covered in fur to keep warm in the damp and cool environment.
Last seen in 1921, the Gremlins were thought to be extinct until this recent discovery.
We only hope the Indonesians will keep them out of the sun, dry, and avoid feeding them after midnight.
He's kind of cute, don't you think? Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Bo, Thanks a lot for your info. I think Indonesia is a magical land. Besides those rare species of animals, they also found some endangered plants there too.
Have you seen these plants before? They're peculiar but beautiful and rare.
Drosera capensis, commonly known as the Cape sundew, is a carnerous plant that lives in South Africa. Not to be outdone by the Venus Flytrap, it is covered in sticky tentacles that trap insects as it crushes its prey. This peculiar plant is native to Cape Province, South Africa. (Getty Images) Besides the distinction of being the world's largest flower, Rafflesia arnoldii is one big stinker. Its odor has been described as similar to rotting flesh. Luckily, the parasitic plant, which can grow about 3 feet across, is only found in the Sumatra and Borneo regions of Indonesia. (Getty Images) Lunaria annua is a plant found throughout Europe. It is often called Annual honesty due to its translucent seed pods. In Southeast Asia, the plant is referred to as the money plant because of its resemblence to silver dollars. (Getty Images) White Egrets are storklike birds that are found in southern Europe and Asia. This flower got its name because of its resemblence to the magnificant bird in flight. (Getty Images) I like White Egrets and Lunaria Annua. They're simply amazing!
I also found some funny signs for you.
I used to post a similar sign like this one and I thought it's funny. With crocodiles near the sign, it sends a message loud and clear. It will definitely deter anyone from doing so, hehe. Wishing you and your family a joyous Thanksgiving Day!
