Missing scenes in episode 70 (this is just a list, I didn't have the time to even guess as to what these were about)
These are in a sequence early in the episode, after Sang-Min has breakfast
(a) Woon-Kyu calls Mme. Oh on the phone and they have a conversation
(b) Some kind of board meeting at Sierra Park - MJ shoots down SM again
(c) Min-Joo's office: Sun-Joo comes by and they have a conversation
(d) Messenger service: Mi-Ryung comes in and exchanges some words with Woon-Sik
(e) The playground: Sun-Joo and Mi-Ryung talk
(f) Ja-Young's workplace: about 1/2 a screenplay page of conversation. It is right after this that JY goes over to beg YJ's grandma "on her knees in tears."
Oh, also they cut out the scenes of her begging Grandma at 5 pm and again at 10 pm. No, I'm just kidding, it only seems that way
Episode 71 (Wed. night): I have gone through this one more carefully, for all the good it did. There is mainly one sequence of two scenes that got cut out. (In addition to the following, there is also a brief scene of conversation at the messenger service, TY not being there ... apparently TY has been taking off work to think about things; and there is a scene of TY and motorcycle at their favorite thinking spot on the riverbank.)
(Some of this stuff I am pretty sure of but some I am not and other places I am completely at sea or even at the babelfish state. In the WK scene it hardly matters, I suppose, because his scenes so frequently get rewritten anyway. But it is very embarrassing. I deserve five blows with a stick.)
(Note: previewing this I see that everywhere I put in three question marks. the software has turned them into a puzzled smiley. It's probably just as well.)
(a) Woon-Kyu's apartment. He is doing the dishes; Ki-Hoon is on his way out.
WK: Are you going out every day now?
KH: (laughing) I go to school and I have an afternoon job, so of course I go out..
WK: OK, just asking..
KH: Sir, I'm also seeing a girlfriend..
WK: A girlfriend?
KH: Going to movies and restaurants.. We can't go on longer trips, it's depressing [??]
WK: [] If you want to speak frankly, is that because the woman doesn't want to or is she already married [??]
KH: It's a question .. getting down to it .. [??] .. meeting her is difficult .. because of her age..
WK: Kid [??] - have you taken to wearing skirts? You might not think it to look at me but when I was a kid [] I was superior in many eyes [?] .. When I was living alone no woman would go out with me, it was disgusting [?] .. Any girl seeing you and letting you take her home .. [??]
KH: I'll be back.. (leaves)
WK: (to himself) [I'm completely at sea here, something about his son and daughter-in-law and Ki-Hoon and giving money]
(b) KH and Na-Young on (KH's) college campus
KH: You've really never been on campus before?
NY: Nursing college, once..
KH: Nursing college?
NY: In order to become a nurse for mother, I took the exam..
KH: And you failed?
NY: You think I'm such a blockhead, don't you!? I passed. I passed but I didn't enroll.
KH: Why not?
NY: I didn't really have an aptitude for it. My mother and sister were on my case to do it [? this doesn't sound like them at all, I know], but my mother passed away and so there was no need.
(A bunch of female students come by and exchange merry greetings with KH)
(NY glares at him with jealousy at first, but then a thought strikes her)
(KH doesn't get the second turn and asks) Does that bother you?
NY: [something I didn't get]. Ajessi..
KH: Not ajessi, oppa...
NY: (She goes through several lines of dialogue with KH here, all of which comes down to her realization that, apparently unbeknownst to her before this moment, there are female students attending KH's college. I really think this is a trifle overdone unless I've really missed some nuance. You can't convince me that she has never heard of this concept. Finally - ) I myself could study and take the entrance exams.
KH: Na-Young, that's a great idea - you can come to our college..
NY: I would be coming here, and you (ajessi) -
KH: Oppa!
NY: You (oppa) won't have graduated..?
KH: Right, so we'll be classmates!! So you'll take the exams?
(NY ponders the idea)
