Our dear characters can be run down by a renegade truck, a speeding car, they can just collapse ... however they get to the hospital... on someone's back, or a car, or even an ambulance - they wind up looking almost beautiful in their little hospital garb ... sometimes they even stay in their street clothes. No dirty faces, hair in place. They can leave, not only their room, but the hospital itself ... and then walk back into the building. Forget about sterile conditions or impairing the healing process. I keep trying to remember to see if they're wearing ID bracelets. And if they are, WHY? Whoever bandaged Taeyong's (sp?) head... needs to return to medical school. I'm finished now.

Hi Kathleen, don't forget that miracle IV Ringer's Solution. Got to have that . . you have a headache: IV . . . you broke a leg? IV . . had a baby? I/V/ . . . reminds me of the old Navy way - ANYTIME for ANYTHING they would give you APC pills - their version of a magic pill . . . I always crack up when I see the patient jump out of bed trailing his/her IV pole and rushing down the hall - no nurses are ever in sight - it's a wonder anyone ever gets cured in the hospital. No wonder they want to leave so quickly . .

I agree whole heartily Kathleen, very funny. ;D I always wonder how they get away with leaving, but it seems nobody cares! Also, the patient's family stays there, brings food, keeps the Vaporizer going (can't let that dry up, who knows how that would set the patient's recovery back) and cares for their every need. Isn't that included with the hospital care? Wait a minute, the room does have a fridge, no wonder they go to the hospital even if they just have a cold, it's like a hotel. Don't forget how good that miracle IV is for all those people who collapse from exhaustion which seems to be so prevalent over there. Apparently it does work wonders Soapygrams if they're running down the hall. What are we missing out on? ;D

I checked tonite's episode. No hospital ID bracelets to be found. I guess whether you come in with a gaping wound or a sprained wrist, or even the 1st stage of labor ... the Magical IV is administered. If everyone gets the same IV, then I guess there's no need for a hospital ID bracelet.

I was cracking up when they kept going off to meet each other. Where are the nurses and doctors?

Oh, this is a very rich vein for humor. Did you all see the patient going down the escalator with his IV pole in tow? Oh, THAT's safe. What about the other patients in the non-private rooms? I feel so sorry for Taeyoung's roommate. Judging by what was going on in there the other day, he must think Taeyoung is the sleaziest guy and the worst son ever--the girl under the covers, the screaming mother, the nonstop drama....

I was cracking up when they kept going off to meet each other. Where are the nurses and doctors? They must only work part-time or else they have VERY LONG LUNCH BREAKS. I guess since so many family members come in to take care of a patient, feeding, cleaning, plumping pillows; checking for a fever, bringing them water . . . what's left for the poor nurses to do?? Oh yeah, that's right . . . they change the empty IV bags . . got to keep that Ringers dripping; it's magic

I remember during my first Korean drama (On the Prairie), when they went to the hospital the IV fluids were still in GLASS BOTTLES. Wow, what a blast from the past.

With all the work the families do for the patients, it's a wonder that they have to pay for hospitalization. Which brings me to another point, how come they always have to pay for hospital stays -- could there really be a country with more people than the U.S. who are not medically insured ?

I'm actually surprised they showed someone in the room this time. Usually it's get their own room and if it's non-private, they usually don't share it with anyone. And with TaePung screaming at his brother the other day, the other patient didn't even seem bothered in the least bit. It's hilarious to the point of stupidity.

Most likely. Though I did see a drama where the iv wasn't magic for long. The patient did go outside at one point...as usual. Also, how are they allowed to use their cell phones? Is there a magic force field too? (Does that even make sense? lol)

Unfortunately, because of my mother, I go to the hospital alot, and you're allowed to use cell phones in the rooms -- not in ER

I got yelled at for using my cell phone in the room my sister stayed in at Downstate, Door. Maybe I looked too suspicious? lol

Thanks, door. Sorry to hear about your mom. I always thought the cell phones would interfere with the medical equipment. ~Rachel

You are allowed to use cell phones in most parts of hospitals now, but to be safe I always ask before I use it. I have also wondered about medical insurance in Korean, I'm sure that most working people have it but a lot of people seem to be self-employed (small restaurant owners, market stall workers, farmers, artists etc.) Possibly they can't afford insurance.
