I was pumped. Ready to go. Dae Joyoung had just ended and I had heard nothing but good things about Great King Sejong. I skipped out from a trip to Hooters to watch the debut episode here in NJ.
I sit down to my TV ten minutes early, watching the Korean News program that airs just before the drama, even though I have no idea what they are saying since there are no subtitles.
Finally, I see the commercial about the switch to digital television and I know that the show is about to begin. The screen fades to black and....
I get Mom's Pretty Upset!
Now, not to knock on Mom, but I watch Korean Historical Dramas, not modern ones. And I'm pretty sure that Sejong is doing better than Mom. I know posting about it is useless and not going to change a thing. But...
I'm Pretty Upset!

That stinks, StG--maybe they heard that the ratings for it in South Korea weren't so great and decided not to show it to you. Whatever the reason, you'll miss a good series. You're right, posting won't change anything, but I'd encourage you to write to the station and complain. If these stations don't hear from viewers, they don't know what people like and dislike.
P.S. Maybe if you go to Hooters you can find some Asian history experts there to talk to!

Actually, Mon's Pretty Upset is currently has the highest rating for KBS right now while GKS has one of the lowest rating.

Sorry to hear that, but I hope you're checking out "Mom's Dead Upset" because it's a LOT better than King Sejong, and it's a real pity, since most of the cast is pretty good. The writers don't seem to know how to build dramatic tension and follow through on what they're setting up, so it's almost as irritating as Dae Joyoung turned out to be. Mom's Dead Upset is actually one of the better-written and directed shows Joanie and I have seen in recent months.

I have to admit that I'm pretty upset myself! I was waiting for GKS since I heard that Chicago & Philly were watching it. I am totally disappointed that we might not be able to see the series at all. I think that ajk had a good idea about writing the tv station. I just hope they listen. I really miss the Asian Network since Comcast changed it's programming channels. Does anyone know if the Asian Network is showing the GKS series?

Snoop, I checked AZN's website drama streaming list, but I could not find GKS either under "G" "K" or "T" (for "the")--but if you want to comb it, here's the link. aznv.tv/en/drama/Bo

Thanks Bo, I'll check it out. I miss posting with you guys & gals on the forum but hopefully in the future we'll have a drama series in common.
Thanks,

snoopdog, I think megaupload.com might have GKS with English subs. Check this out: www.kbfd.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=12The Great King Sejong is right at the top of the page. I've watched things from megaupload before. Good luck.
