This is the place to discuss the KBS Daily Drama "You Are My Destiny". KBS World has given this show the English title "You Are My Life".

Yay I just couldn't wait to start talking about this new show. I hope it's as good or even better than LON

Is anyone else as bored with this story line as I am. I understand it's always difficult to get into the story for several episodes (especially after becoming so attached to some of the charactures of LON or anoth really good drama) - but this one is driving me crazy. I'm in NJ, we are in episode 20 something, don't remember exactly - I never would have thought I would be so disinterested in a kdrama that I don't mind if I miss an episode or two.
Sorry to rant - just really sad........perhaps it will get better in the later episodes!

;D I'm in Chicago and I have missed more episodes than I've watched; I usually stay the course and hope the storyline will improve with time but this one just hasn't "grabbed" my attention. Just as you say, surprise, surprise that missing an episode is just no big thing with this drama - never felt quite like that about the daily drama but this is one clunker I do NOT miss - good thing the other dramas are good enough to keep me interested

To me this drama started out very depressing. It reminds me of The Bizzare Bunch in a few ways. There's an orphan girl, a young person died tragically, and a mother with a relationship way too close with her son. Of course there are the usual rich families and poor families. I can't believe what some of the characters say before they even know what's going on. Nasty. It's sad that Na Young's family are treating Saebyeok so badly. I'm trying to understand how they feel, but so far this drama is a bummer. I hope it gets better too.

I think that this drama is also not as good as the others. I live in NJ too, and if it weren't for the fact that this is the ONLY k-drama we get, I would skip this one. But, I am hooked, and there's nothing else.... By the way, Skye, where in NJ are you?

If you guys are only on episode 11ish Id recommend sticking with it. Unfortunately www.mysoju.com is broken for this right now...but I believe they were up to episode 43. I was watching this drama in Korea when I as there in May. The first 20 episodes are a bit tedious, but they do set up for a better show. Episodes 20-43 were much better, but helped to know what happened prior to these shows. I was the same as you guys. I was tired of Sae byuk's whining and apathy. But later on, things start working out for her. I guess its what you call a typical Korean Drama..Theres aways someone who really gets on your nerves by the way they act or react in the show. Then as the show progresses you start liking the character more and more. The story line with Tae Young is really good. So far up to episode 43, I like his story line better than the main Sae Byuk's. Although, I think Sae Byuk's story line is just starting to get some steam and kick off.

Saebyeok=Baekho=Muyeong=Guhkwa and so on lol
Even though I've been very disappointed with how the previous dramas have ended, I watch cause I still have hope that in one of these dramas, the beaten down one wil rise up and kick some major butt.

I just noticed that mysoju doesn't have the show anymore! I was so counting on watching the episodes I missed and also to watch some eps in advance 'cause I find myself getting frustrated with some of the story lines and some of the characters.
I hope this gets fixes on mysoju.
Does anyone know if and when it will be repaired?

Hi Door 60 - I'm in Caldwell NJ, I feel gipped that we only get one weekly drama and the Sat/Sun drama. I look forward to seeing your posts, it's good to have another kdrama addict in the state. BTW Veohtv is airing episodes into the 60's in Korean, it still appears to be very depressing though. I think I just miss Baeko and Danpung too much............

I think this drama is okay and I think it will get better for me if I can just get past all the beginning frustrating nasty characters that seem to be a requirement in many K-dramas.
I'm in NJ too and all we get is this one and Dae Ya Young on the weekends.
I've heard that people who have satellite TV can get Korean stations where they have several Kdramas showing every day.
Imagine that! I would probably never leave my house! I'm pretty addicted to kdrama.

You're correct about staying at home, northwest. I watch the shows here in Chicago on channel 41. I watch 7 different stories each week. There are two on the air that I don't watch. This is apart from the ones that I buy or rent.
We also have several talk and variety shows on the air that I sometimes catch.
I think that really qualifies me as a K-drama addict.

I would gladly rent kdrama videos but whenever I go into a Korean video store, they tell me that their videos do not come with English subtitles.

I do not like the week-end drama we get in NJ -- it's a historical drama which I can't seem to get into at all. For now, I just watch You Are My Destiny, and from time to time, I watch something on the mysoju.com -- but it's not as comfy watching a story from your computer, as it is watching lying down. Oh, northwest & skye, I just found a new Korean Restaurant in Closter, NJ if you are interested in trying it -- really terrific !!
