I don't understand. The Queen is so vain and self centered. She only cares about the way she looks to people , $$$$ and prestige.. I can't believe how her husband just encourages her behavior.. What kind of people are these!! I hope she does get pregnant and they move out (the queen told them that she wants them to move out if she has a baby right away). Poor Yeongmi will have a lot of health problems with her MIL superficial expectations. When she does get pregnant, hopefully she will let up some, otherwise Yeongmi's and the baby's health are at stake. Hope Yeongmi's hubby, gets in the middle and moves his wife out of the lions den. ;P UNBELIEVABLE!! It is very annoying that every chance the Queen gets, she always lectures Yeongmi on something stupid. Like the history of "pancakes".

I thought women like that got beat by their husbands. Not that I'm condoning spousal abuse or anything and I know Jamaica and Korea are different countries but a wife like that in Jamaica would get her daily beating till she came around, rich or poor. Even in some of the American soaps, the women get smacked if they're too evil. Seochil's dad smacked her when she disobeyed him, so what's one slap to this lady's face gonna take away. lol

The idea that a woman deserves to be physically punished for her behavior makes me very uncomfortable, as does the idea that there is a human being alive who would qualify to dole out that punishment.

These dramas do show a lot of hitting… but it's usually the women doing the smacking. I love the way Yeongmi imitates Euna… at least she can see some humor through the pain.

The queen is so annoying!! Poor Yeongmi.. She can't eat what she wants, do what she wants with out her MIL telling her her not to do this, not to eat that!! Why doesn't someone tell her she is crazy and she can't control people!! Yeongmi must really LOVE her hubby to deal with that dragon all day!! Hopefully she will get pregnant soon, so her MIL has to be nice to her since she is carrying a baby...

There's this episode last night where the daughter in law made her eat spicy rice cakes... It was soooo funny ;D She won't eat it but because her husband mocks, she ate it and she was sooo funny doing it. Her character adds up a lot of color to the show.

Are you watching from Chicago? If you are not, you might be ahead of us. We have a spoiler thread, which you might post there if it is info that we have not seen yet.

I find it ridiculous that Yeongmi's FIL refers to MIL as "unique" Her behavior is her special uniqueness. I think she is something else! It is so stressful for all of them to always walk on eggshells around her. They really treat her as a QUEEN... And let her get away with stupid and unbelievable behavior and conversations.. Poor Yeongmi.. talk about stress... Thant poor girl will never get pregnant in that crazy household (jail is more like it..)

Euna needs to be put into a mental hospital. She is certainly exhibiting abnormal behavior. What the heck is wrong with her husband that he cannot see that this is not normal? Insomnia that goes untreated for a long period of time can make an otherwise "normal" person do very abnormal things and the thinking gets really scrambled. That's medical facts. Oh well, it IS a drama, so facts are not necessarily needed LOL. But she sure is a head case if ever there was one!

She does have issues. The thing is, he does see that it's not normal, but he has decided she can't be "changed" (how about understood and helped??), and now he's advising the kids to do the same. The Queen seems to have a very fragile ego structure and a very strong need to always be right. Unfortunately, psychotherapy is a big taboo over there. It is funny how the queen is not able to "change" but every one else has to for her sake. Since what the queen likes and dislikes is the rule for every one too. really pathetic!!

"The queen has fallen" " The queen has fallen" If her husband is cheating on her, I feel sorry for him because she is going to KILL him!! The insurance paper that came in the mail looks suspicious. Maybe it is a mistake, and maybe it is not! I wonder if Yeongmi will tell her hubby or FIL why Queen collapsed. Can't wait till tonight!

That whole "Forgotten birthday blame game" was getting old fast... The only thing that saved this weeks episodes was Dad growing a pair... The "Wicked Witch" line should have been last night on Halloween... If you missed it...(or want to watch it again)... www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxijFv8Et-gP.S. Is there any way to get rid of that nasty Google tumor that appears next to the video if you use the[ youtube][/youtube] code?...

It was funny to hear that she thinks her husband need a doctor.. She is the one who is going BONKERS!! & The kids are left in the middle playing messenger boy/girl. "don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the message" I think poor yeongmi is going to be a casualty in this war..

I'm with you Soapy on Euna. She isn't just mean for the sake of it like most MIL's in these stories, she's nutso. We're not as far as you guys but I see her cracking some time soon.
And Lucy, why is therapy taboo in Korea? There was a daughter in another drama not too long ago (High As The Sky?) who was sent overseas to get treatment for her nightmares and insecurity because her folks didn't want anybody to find out.
