It was so cute how grampa looks at his lady friend with dreamy eyes! It was so FUNNY when he went into a pharmacy and asked them why his heart is pounding. If he was having a heart attack!! It is so cute how he is acting because of his girl. Driving a car after many years, wearing cologne and lotion and exercising with weights.. ahhhh love great!!

Did anyone notice how abruptly the episode on Saturday (10/4) ended. Grandpa and his ladylove were learning how to txt each other, and the episode just cut off. I thought it was an error, so I taped the repeat yesterday morning (Tuesday), and the same thing happened.

Grandpa. He must have been quite a looker in his youth. He still has a handsome face.
I was at Koryo Books on West 32nd in NYC the other day. (Boxed sets of Jumong for $400. Yikes!) Anyway, I saw a poster of Grandpa as some kind of king in a historical drama. The writing was Korean which I don't read. Anyone know what drama that was?

Is it Lee Soon-jae? Who played the grandfather in so many shows like Who's My Love and My Sweetheart, My Darling et al.? Puppy, I wonder if you were seeing a poster for Hur June (or Huh Joon), where he plays a doctor. Or, here is koreanwiz's bio of him (I notice she doesn't list Hur June, but I'm watching it now and he's in it--grey wispy beard and all):
LEE SOON JAE (Yi Sun Jae) Born: October 10, 1935 Family: married School: Seoul University TV dramas: Mom's Dead Upset (Choong-bok); When Spring Comes (Jung-do's grandfather); Man in the Vineyard (Byung-dal); Princess Lulu (grandfather); My Sweetheart (In-young's grandfather); Tropical Nights in December (Ji-hwan's dad); Sweet 18 (Hyuk-joon's grandfather); Pearl Necklace (Joon-hyuk's dad); Who's My Love (Duk-bae); Gift (Chairman); Orient Theatre; Housewife's Rebellion
PS - If your poster had a picture of Jun Kwang-ryul ("JKR") prominently displayed, I would say it was Hur June for sure, as JKR plays the lead character, Dr. Hur. JKR also played Prince/King Kumwa in Jumong.

You amaze me, Bo! Thanks for the info.
It was definitely Grandpa from M'sDU and he was alone in the poster, sitting on what I thought was a throne but could have been simply a chair, and he had on a sort of high, peaked hat and fancy cape or shawl. It looked historical but I'm not certain.
I was in awe of all the drama DVD's available at Koryo - hundreds and hundreds. And I'm only on Number 9.

Hmm, Puppy, I don't think that was Hur June, but I am only 10 eps in, so who knows. Now I'm curious if he was in ANOTHER historical. Maybe you should have asked them. LOL.
Door, Koryo is the name of an ancient dynasty in the Korean peninsula. It is where we get the English word, "Korea." (ROFL--TEASING!) But I think puppy explained it in his previous post.

If so, it’s actor Lee Soon-jae in the MBC drama “Yi San.” KoreanWiz doesn’t list that drama (which is odd, since “Yi San” was hugely popular) but here’s the official MBC page: www.imbc.com/broad/tv/drama/isan/and here’s the Wiki page on the show in English: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yi_SanI though Lee Soon-jae was astonishingly good in “Yi San,” since he played a paranoid king who even had is own son (the crown prince) killed when he suspected him of coveting the throne. Way, way different from the lovable grandpa we all otherwise know him as!

[ Mod note- Kathleen, I moved your comment from the middle of Mikey's post, where you had inadvertently put it, to the end, so we could see it was you. LOL. -Bo]

So, here's the thing. aznV.TV used to have Yi San listed, but now it is not. Or, I can't find it any more. The link I had saved is disabled. Drat. How disappointing. I had a whole list of stuff I was planning to watch through their website, and none of them are there anymore. Boo hoo.

That was it, mikey/kathleen! Thanks! You Chi guys rock! The YiSan DVD was for sale at Koryo but of course, I couldn't read the title.
Dorrie, Koryo is the name of a wonderland bookstore at 34 W. 32 Street, in the heart of what New Yorkers call Koreatown. We were down there for barbeque and did some browsing. Mostly the inventory (music, books, dramas, bins of cards and posters and other paper stuff) is in Korean but the clerks are helpful and alot of the DVD's have Eng subs
