I encountered this show recently, and it looks pretty cool. It stars Chae Rim as a bodyguard at the "Blue House" (residence of the President). After this and "Dalja's Spring" I must say that she is more than just a cute face. You can read a bit about this on the KBS World website (in English). According to this, it will begin showing on KBS World in May; I hope we get it here. It's one of those shows that's impossible to follow without subtitles (unless you understand Korean ) [It also didn't help that I missed eps two and three ]. There's plenty of action, and it's stylish and slick. There's a few older actors you'll recognize, including Lee "Archfiend" Duk-hwa.

This show has a great cast, and I was really looking forward to watching it. However, the show’s poor initial ratings in Korea (7.1%) may make it less likely now that it’ll be shown in America. english.kbs.co.kr/entertainment/news/1519079_11858.htmlGuess it didn’t help that “Rivals” was having to go head-to-head against MBC’s “Yi San” (27.9% ratings). Given the choice, I probably would have stuck with “Yi San” as well. My thanks to KoreanWiz for pointing out the above link.

I'm sure the drama will air on KBS World and KBS America no matter how the ratings are. If Four Gold Diggers aired (and it had much lower ratings than Formidable Rivals), Formidable Rivals should air.
However, there seems to be lots of criticism towards the drama, or at least the first 2 episodes.
What Chae Rim's character wears in the poster (for the poster photoshoot) is pretty indicative of what her character is like in the drama (what female Presidential bodyguard would wear that short of a skirt and those high heels...not the image of a female Presidential bodyguard, but rather that of a female cop [stereotypical])
Had high hopes for this drama considering it's from the writer of Dal Ja's Spring (and from the PD of Scandal in Old Seoul), but I just don't feel whatever I felt with Dal Ja's Spring.

I recognize 2 of the actors from previous dramas I have seen. I might give this show a chance. I will try and tune in next week.

I haven't watched it yet. But .... It airs 8pm-9pm on Wed-Thurs. I would turn the TV on at 7:45 though....because KBC sometimes airs shows earlier than the set time.

It seems like an ok show so far. I personally like Lee Jin Wook (I saw him in the dramas "Someday" and "Air City")and I enjoyed Chae Rim's performance in "Oh Pil Seung".
I think they will have good chemistry on this show.

I missed the first 2 episodes. Are we aware of what has happened between Suho, Gwanpil, and Eunyoung? It seems there was some kind of accident, and I'm thinking from tonight's story that Suho blames Gwanpil for the loss of Eunyoung, but instead, he is to blame.

This is another good drama and I've been keeping up with the episodes. It really grabbed my attention and I love the characters. If you missed the first 2 episodes, you can watch them on mysoju.com. I keep forgetting to set the DVR believing that I'll watch the different dramas.
I sometimes get distracted figuring that I have just enough time to take care of something or another before it comes on, and when I turn around and look, I've missed the majority of the program or have missed it completely.

I missed the 1st Episode. But,I did see the connection between the 3 characters. I don't what the story is....I'll guess we'll have to wait and see.

The office found out that Gwang Pil has a daughter. They tried to fire him, because he didn't tell them. However, I think his superior (boss) stood up for him and Young Jin. And Suho finally made a pass at his female bodyguard. He showed up at her house (instead of making her come to his house and go back home).
