Passed the royal seal to Choongnyeong at the end of Ep39. Moved to Sugang Palace in Ep40. In Ep48 we learn that he's dying of an unnamed illness. In Ep53 we learn that he has "a variety of problems from diabetes to dermatitis." Hangs on for quite a while, though, before dying at the end of Ep55.

Nearly sent off to Ming on two occasions; the first to marry a daughter of the emperor, the second as a hostage for threatening a visiting Ming envoy. Nearly deposed for having an affair with his uncle's consort Chogungjang; only a sham public inquiry saved him. In Ep38 he finally is deposed, after secretly putting up his own posters exposing his affair with Auri and thereby provoking his reluctant father to act. He leaves the palace for good in Ep38.
Prince Hyoryeong - Second son of Taejong and Wongyeong. Had little interest in politics. In Ep36 he surprisingly speaks of wanting the throne, but in Ep38 tells his father that he realizes the throne is not for him. Speaks in Ep49 of his Buddhist faith. Arrested and sentenced to home confinement by Sejong in Ep51 for participating in Buddhist activities.
Prince Seongnyeong - Fourth son of Taejong and Wongyeong. Dies from smallpox in Ep37.
Prince Kyoungnyeong - Son of Taejong and consort Hyobin. Reveals in Ep13 that he's plotting to become crown prince, but after harboring it for some time, in Ep36 shows happiness at the prospect of Choongnyeong being named crown prince and thereafter becomes one of Choongnyeong's close supporters.

Hyang's second wife/crown princess - A teenage girl of the Bong clan, first seen in Ep67 when she meets and marries crown prince Hyang. Deposed in Ep78 and leaves the palace after her affair with a female maid was exposed. We were never given her full name.

Hwang Hee - Headed the Ministry of Rites. As a young man, witnessed the Dumundong incident, in which the last group of scholars (and possibly others) who resisted the new Joseon dynasty were killed when soldiers surrounded and torched their building. The incident traumatized Hwang, who had begged the group to give up. Reassigned to Ministry of Public Works in Ep29. In Ep37, he selflessly takes responsibility for the crown prince's attempted military action in the north (even though he tried to prevent the action) and is sentenced to banishment by Taejong. Lived as a farmer in Gyoha, a small village in Gyeonggi province not far from the capital. Returned to government service in Ep54 at Taejong's and Sejong's requests, to serve as a special advisor to Sejong. In Ep72 Sejong addresses him as prime minister.

Provided the military power behind Taejong's victory and rise to the throne in the Second Princes' Rebellion. Saved the three boy princes from Yi Banggan's men in the process. Vocal supporters of the crown prince who wanted Choongnyeong banished or executed to avoid any future conflict between the two princes. Were behind the bribery/embezzlement scandal regarding compensation payments to street vendors and the scheme to frame Choongnyeong for slandering Yangnyeong (Ep4). Taken from the capital in a prisoner cart (Ep5). Later drank poison and committed suicide.
Min Muhwe and Min Muhyul - Military ministers. Younger brothers to Mugu and Mujil and the queen. Reassigned in Ep24 to office of royal relatives. Discovered in Ep31 to have amassed secret illegal land holdings. Sentenced in Ep32 by Yangnyeong to banishment and death.
Park Eun - Initially, capital bureaus commissioner. Bright and independent-thinking; came up with the identity tag program implemented in Ep10. At some point after Ep10 was promoted to minister of personnel. In Ep23 was "promoted" (really a significant demotion) to left state councilor as punishment for his attempts to act against the crown prince's political supporters. Was an auditor by trade. In Ep40, asked by Sejong to head the new Hall of Worthies. In Ep50 we learn that he was Jo Malseng's political mentor. Has the title "Lord" as of Ep51; Sejong uses it in addressing him. Fired by Sejong in Ep51 and retires from government service, leaving the palace.
Jo Malseng - Minister. Apparently more than just a minister, though; has the title "Lord" and is often seen giving private counsel to the king. In Ep40 identified as Sejong's minister of memorials; also selected the initial group of scholars for the Hall of Worthies. In Ep41 says he's the chief royal secretary. Named minister of military by Taejong in Ep45. In Ep50 we learn that Park Eun was his political mentor. Busted in Ep66 for rampant political corruption and for orchestrating the fires set in the capital city. His assets were seized and he was sent off into exile. Shows up again at the end of Ep69; in Ep70 we learn that he's been given some sort of reinstatement; he's now leading the military in Hamgil province.

Named prime minister in Ep41. Travels to Ming in Ep42 and successfully secures Sejong's investiture. Arrested in Ep43 and charged with treason. Executed by poisoning in Ep44.
Yi Sookbun and Yi Jongmu - Military ministers. Sookbun was the best friend of the future king Taejong. They appear to be brothers and also have some connection to consort Hyobin. Sookbun was arrested in Ep35 for supporting the crown prince's plot to attack and conquer the Liaodong territory (presumably Jongmu was too, but we weren't shown it).
Yu Jeonghyun - A regional government official who became prime minister in Ep29, at Taejong's request and upon the recommendation of Hwang Hee. Offers his resignation in Ep41 now that Sejong has replaced Taejong, but Taejong asks him to return to his old job at the inspector general's office, which he does (so obviously he worked there at some point). In Ep46 and thereafter we see him as part of the Tsushima attack force; apparently he has some sort of government oversight role in the war. In Ep53 we learn that he's once again the prime minister. Offers his resignation to officials at the end of Ep62 to resolve the dispute over Shim On's posthumous restoration.
Huh Jo - A vice-minister introduced in Ep29 after the flash-forward. Spoke boldly against Yangnyeong's attempt to alter the national policy on private land holdings, and in Ep32 Yangnyeong fired him for it. But in Ep33 he was there, business as usual, so apparently the firing didn't stick (wasn't explained). In Ep55 we learn that heads the Ministry of Rites. In Ep56 Sejong asks him to head the Ministry of Personnel.
Meng Sasung - Introduced in Ep29, a local official from somewhere in the countryside (he rode to the capital on a cow) summoned to be a subordinate deputy minister or official (we don't know for sure which yet) to Huh Jo. After Yu Jeonghuyn's departure it appears that Meng Sasung replaces him as prime minister; this isn't made explicit, but Meng is wearing the light blue robe and sitting in seats of prominence.
Park Seup - New defense minister, first seen in Ep39. Arrested and tortured in Ep41 to obtain a false admission that Shim On was conspiring treason; Park was chosen simply as a convenient, easy target who would likely cave in quickly.

Noh Boon - Yangnyeong's head attendant. Guided a squad of men to Choongnyeong's Namsan cabin in Ep19 to attempt to capture and kill Chogungjang, as plotted by Min Muhyul and Min Muhwe.

Squealed on Hwang Hee to PM Ha when Hwang was considering investigating the Gangryeongpo invasion incident (Ep7). Choi Yundeok - Garrison commander in charge of defending northern border territory. First introduced in Ep30; he seems to be conspiring with enemy barbarians and shaking down villagers, but the villagers revere him and he has kept peace on the border for many years. Removed from duty by Yi Chun in Ep32, but reinstated after the Yi Chun inquiry. In Ep39, after Choongyeong's elevation to crown prince, we see that's he's now a general. In Ep44 Sejong refers to him as "the de facto leader of the military."
