Hey everybody!
I used to be in Chicago until a bit ago, and when the reception would come in I used to love occasionally catching the English subbed kdramas on Channel 23...at least I think it was channel 23, it's been a few years now. I think it was the channel that used to be time-shared or something, because I also recall watching Bollywood music videos on Saturday afternoons... Good times that...
Any way what I was wondering is if anyone could tell me some of the names of the English subbed shows that were on that channel back during the 2004-2006 time period...(assuming my memory is correct about the channel name)?
I specifically recall a scene in one where a younger business man was being called on the carpet for being late to a meeting and the CEO was demanding to know why he was late and whether his wasting the company time was worth helping out an old man...then when the young man stammered he thought it was good to respect our elders the CEO praises him, revealing it was the CEO's father he'd helped.
Another one I recall was a historical drama, but I don't recall too much about it besides it being very interesting whenever I could catch it. There was a scene with a gatekeeper or a leader of the guards giving food to a begger because of old friendship, but then the news the begger brought neccessiated their deaths? I don't really remember too well. Sorry!
If anyone has any ideas what the heck I'm asking for, please post! Or if anyone knows where I oculd find a list of all the dramas subbed in English that aired in the time I'm asking about I'll search through them myself. Thanks!

Err...I did some more searching and I think I meant to say channel 28. Oops! Channel 23 was when I was a kid and I don't know if they had any subbed shows or not.

The first one sounds like On The Green Prarie. The main character, Tae-woong, was a car salesman for a thinly-diguised Daewoo. The same actor was also Emperor Wang Guhn.

Oh, and bornagain, I believe the boss's MOTHER was the person he helped, not the father. I mean to say, I know it was the mother, if that's the drama you mean. The woman who played the boss's mother is a popular actress named Yuh Woon Kye, who also played the grandmother in Who's My Love and the wonderful Lady Jung in Dae Jang-geum. I don't recognize the scene in the historical drama, you might have to add more detail. Bo PS - you could try our "Off Air" listings-- deiner.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=offairyou'd have fun digging around in there, anyway!
