I think same as you Kambis. Western media too much rely on sex. Even music videos I horror to see. Some singers are very young and yet dress too sexy and move like a pro. It is like child porno. And some in their good old days like Madonna, Britney Spears, Spice Girls etc. are awful terrible singers! Their sound and William Hung in same standard. But they are millionaries and succesful because they sell sexy image. Not selling singing talent.
I thought to myself that to improve English, I read romance novels. So I buy a few but description is too porno like. Even high writers like Nora Roberts, Brenda Joyce, Stella Cameron. If couple do not have sex they say they are not sure of the other and always wondering if they can be good match. Only after have sex and if good then they say yes they suited. Is this forever love or forever lust?!
And today I find that cosmetics company Blue Q use Jesus to brand their products. It is not right! Even I not Christian feel disgust at cheap marketing ploy. I will never buy any more products from them unless they recall and apologise. Otherwise if I buy is like I support this kind of disrespect.

You're making some good points Ask.
It's clear to many of us that America is very much a sexually overheated society. Everywhere you turn the idea(s) of sex are being used to sell something, gain exposure or build popularity.
Here in the U.S. we use an expression that refers to money as "the bottom line". This means that the only thing that matters to some people is making money. What I'm describing may truly be one of the dark sides of capitalism. Morality doesn't matter to many people who can make a dollar doing something objectionable.
However, I would like to point out that not all Americans are morally loose, fast talkers and deal makers. A large number of us are simple people, trying to provide for our families and to live full lives with the people that we love. In that respect there are many Americans who may be very similar to the kind of people that you have grown up with.

Wether you like kambis or not. It is still illegal to use. The federal gov. can still institute laws to prevent its use and distribution.

I agree with all of you and just because big business tries to force this on us doesn't mean all of us like it or agree with it.

Very often messgae is very good points. Now I know that not all Americans are bad. But it took me many years to know. Based on tv and how Americans behave when not in own country I thought all Americans are loud mouth, friviolous, immoral ... Then I have next door American neigbhour. For many time I run for life when see neigbhours as I thought they bad people. Slowly we become friends and I surprised they are good people. When I visited America and walking down road, a car with 5 young teens stopped in front of me. The boys throw water ballon at me and shout that I smelly Asian should go home and not pollute white America. Immediately a group of passersby scolded the boys. One took picture of car and boys and said will send to police. Lady at shop nearby give me free clothes and many apologies. I have many other stories. But each time one bad American, many good American I meet. So I know that how to say, not all apples are bad? It is not this meaning to say when I sent yesterday message.

Dear Ask, Not all Americans are loud mouthed, frivolous, or immoral. They just seem to be the ones that catch your attention because of their bad behavior. I'm sorry you had to encounter the rotten apples, but there are a lot of good apples too like us. Join us anytime!!!

If couple do not have sex they say they are not sure of the other and always wondering if they can be good match. Only after have sex and if good then they say yes they suited. Is this forever love or forever lust?! You might like reading some mysteries, like the ones by Rita Mae Brown and SneakyPie Brown (her cat ). They take place in a small town in Virginia, in the mountains. There are murders, but most of the people in the town are good company. Also Ellis Peters' Brother Cadfael mysteries are fun; they take place in 12th century England and Wales. I've heard that Jan Karon writes interesting and uplifting books. Here's a site in England: www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/k/jan-karon/at-home-in-mitford.htmThere's also Jane Austen. Or Louisa May Alcott's Little Women, if you haven't read it. I like reading children's or young adult books too. A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park takes place in Korea. This drama board has lots of readers, so I'm sure you'll get more suggestions if you want them.

I though Kambis is a person who wrote message. My message is that I agree with her post. I do not know about kambis object. I believe that diurf thinks we are talking about cannibis, which is marijuana. Kambis (actually, I think she (he?) calls herself Kumbis16, which may be a play on her actual name) is a member of this board who said something that Ask wanted to respond to. I thank you, Ask, for doing it in the way I requested. I meant to tell you that. So, diurf, don't worry, no one is asking us to smoke marijuana. Bo PS= LOL. It took so long for me to finish my post, and there is 7S, just writing a simple question. I always knew I talked toooooooo much.

Dear Ask, Thank you for sharing that heart-warming story with all of us. It is important to share stories of kindness, especially when we are all saddened by yet another senseless loss of young people in the massacre at NIU. Kam sahamida.
