I had a few thoughts about Chulin during these 2 episodes.
First, it was good to see SukYoung finally realize that Chulin was honestly devoted to the cause and not trying to stir up the Khitans (or steal back DJY). Her goodbye to Chulin was interesting. The translation of her last line may have been a bit screwy: "Our relations has been resilient and cruel." Maybe "resilient" here means the same as "long-standing"?
Chulin was pretty stoical and cool during their interchange -- which I don't blame her for. She had a lot more on her mind than SukYoung's feelings! It looked to me as if SukYoung almost wanted to hug her, but there are so few embraces on the show -- and Chulin's military bearing certainly didn't invite it!
Second issue: Chulin says she always loved LiKaigu. Do we believe this? And if so, why?
Maybe years of seeing LK's devotion to Geom led to love on her part -- or maybe the fact that he is totally devoted to her inspired the same response in her heart. But it is hard to believe she really loves him. With Geom, the love is understandable since LK raised him as his father. But it is hard to believe that Chulin really just wants to live quietly with LK.
Final note -- I thought Chulin looked so cool in her severe warrier outfit. Really tough!
(Final final note: The hostage strategy she came up with was brilliant and did save DJY and his people, buying enough time for Geom to bring the Mohoe (sp?) tribe. And it was only Geom who could persuade them. So despite Mimosa and SukYoung not wanting Chulin and Geom around, they proved most valuable. Although one could argue that if a Khitan had not betrayed DJY, the extra help would not have been needed.)
