I'm already starting to have Korean Drama withdrawal symptoms. I read the following at Korean Wiz (http://www.koreanwiz.org/news.html): Story from Star Bulletin (http://starbulletin.com/2008/02/01/business/engle.html): One of Hawaii's sources for Asian television programming will go dark April 9.
Oceanic Time Warner Cable carries AZN TV, but the plug is being pulled by AZN parent company Comcast Corp., the nation's largest cable provider, based in Philadelphia.
The channel reached about 13.9 million Comcast homes and more via other providers, "but we weren't able to get any additional widespread reach," said spokeswoman Teresa Wiedel......
Apparently, this is a business decision. However, as viewers of Asian dramas and entertainment, we've got to do something now so that our source for Asian TV does not end. Contact your local cable company. Ask them to consider carrying another Asian TV channel that would provide English subtitles. If I am forced to stop watching Korean dramas on TV, I might be forced to clean the house or clean my garage!!!!!!!

midwestmom, That stinks!!! I think you're right about contacting the cable company, the more people the better. I remember a few years back when Fox canceled "America's Most Wanted", the people protested and they brought it back. I don't have AZN, I watch on a PBS station. If WYBE ever pulled the plug I'd be devastated too. Good luck. We don't want you to have to resort to cleaning to fill the void.

I recently got digital with sixty-billion channels and still, the best shows to watch are the K-dramas. My local affiliate, WMBC, runs some foreign lang shows without subtitles (news, games, religion and dramas) and Likable or Not and Dae Joyoung with subs. The rest is infomercials. I hope they don't change their lineup, or if they do, it's in favor of more Korean and pan-Asian movies and shows for an Eng-speaking audience.
I'll write some letters, midwestmom and thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks, JP. I tend to stick to the show threads and have never tried the General. If I have more to say, I'll post it there.

"Blasted Greedy Bastard's " My local PBS station also dropped Korean Programming in favor of Russian and old classical Arts stuff . So i am devastated by this ,we have a local Asian Station but thats mainly Chinese and Japanese on Weekends (worth it for the year long Samurai Drama ) And Comcast's new TVK24 (TV Korea )is worthless nothing is subtitled and no dramas anyway ,so my point is if only 13 mil watch AZN i imagine only about 2 must watch this . But what bugs me even more is Comcast just added some new Latino Stations and Black Stations so do they think Asian People dont watch TV I am gutted, the only reason i even keep Comcast is for AZN and being from over the pond the English Premier League and it seems Dish has more footy anyway and more Asian Stations . It just amazes me that a Cable Network that claims to be so multi cultural can be so narrow minded and its bad enough they are the most expensive cable network in the country and have the least to offer . Nothing Comcastic about these blasted greedy bastards . Hmm this has ruined my day still as soon as DJY is over i will drop these plebs and enjoy telling them why .
