I know the series is over in Chicago but I hope those of us who are behind can still post.
Last week in NY we saw the princess embrace DJY after his return from the the human hunt. She doesn't know he's sworn loyalty to Empress Barracuda yet. I wonder if he hugs her back. His affections seem more in the nature of respect for her title and maybe her heroism. (For some reason I don't understand, he's still hung up on stone-faced Chulin.)
Can't wait for tonight.

(For some reason I don't understand, he's still hung up on stone-faced Chulin.) You're not the only one who doesn't quite get the attraction thing. Is it because she was his first relationship? Then again maybe he likes stone-faced women since he's not Mr. Show Your Emotions Kinda Guy either. Also don't hold your breath about your other question.

;D I think the attraction of DJY to Chulin is because he sees her as an equal - he's a warrior and she's a warrior. The Princess is a -- princess so he shows her the respect due her position as the niece of the King. I don't think Chulin is stony-faced when she and DJY are alone together LOL -

I agree, Soapygrams, I think passion and sparks really fly between DJY and Chulin. With Sukyeong (sp) it seems that her feelings are more of a crush or hero worship. DJY is kind and respectful (Thank you, wife) but does not seem truly in love with her. It seems it was almost an arranged marriage.

Soapy is right, a lot of guys like women who are 'tough' so to speak more so than they do the tender, frilly ones. I prefer Chulin to sukyeong.
Oh!! again, I only caught the ending... so that was a make shift wedding right and they are now husband and wife...?

You're right, tinkerbell. He sort of hugged her back but it was a sterile hug and a sterile wedding. The only ones smiling were Biwu, Sudol and the king.

puppy, I thought the rushed wedding was sad too, but King Bojang was so happy to witness it because his days are numbered and he wanted to be at peace knowing his niece was being taken care of.

Last nite, shortly after thay married, DJY and Sukyeong were sitting across from one another and she says, " I'm glad you came home tonight." (Or something like that.) She looks amazing, eye make-up and everything. Her face just glows. And he calls her Dearest. I guess it's a real marriage after all and not just one to please the King.

Wow. But Sudol and Biwu looked upset not happy for them... I dunno, I must've read into it wrongly then.

Brooklyn, Biwu is torn beyween telling DJY about his son and his promise (given under duress) to Chulin not to spill the beans. Don't know why Sudol is so upset.
And speaking of Chulin, I know we're supposed to believe she adores her son but she left him when he was a baby and now he's like 7 and when she goes to get him and finds him sleeping in DJY's arms, she doesn't even look at him! She tells one of the soldiers to take Geom away and starts to mouth off at DJY.
Maybe it's a warrior culture thing but it sure isn't motherly.
