I posted this question on the general board, but noone responded, and I am really curious...In all these shows, whenever they show a scene in a fomentation room, the characters are eating eggs. Why do they serve hard boiled eggs in fomentation rooms ?

I don't know the CULTURAL reason but a couple of commonsense reasons are: boiled eggs keep well; they don't need utensils to eat them - just hands and a place to put the egg shell; they are digestible for most people. and perhaps there is a money reason, that they are affordable to the people. I hope one of our Korean members would explain further. Oh yeah, LOTS of people love hard-boiled eggs - me too LOL ;D

I am 1/4 Korean and I do not think there is any cultural implication in eating boiled eggs in public baths. As soapy said, it keeps well. And well, the public baths are heated so the eggs would be boiled There are other stuff like milk which you can find in all public baths so yeah, why focus only on boiled eggs
