Would it be a problem if Baekho turns out to be Mansu's son born out of wedlock?(Though the re-marriage rectifies the potential situation)
It's obvious from K-dramas that rich families in Korea seem to make such a big deal that their son(s) take over their business. That may be true in western society too except when the son is Illegitimate.Whereas in Korea that doesnt seem to be a major problem, for example ,in the dramas Cruel Love and Oh!Feel Young, they are pushed to take over in absence of a legitimate son.
Is this true?
Anyway,if it's not a problem..and if it does turn out to be true...Grandma and Sua will be so gutted!!

I am not sure why this is a recurring theme in KBS dramas. Maybe they found the formulae works once, so they don't want to jinx it. This issue was common in our grandparent's time, not so common in our parent's time and today, it is laughable to suggest a son, legitimate or illegitimate is better than a daughter!
In olden days, if the first wife (the other woman is never referred to as mistress but as second wife) could not bear a son, the illegitimate son would be brought into the family home and raised as son of first wife. And contrary to TV dramas, some of these first wives do love the children as if they were their own.

That would be brilliant.Good one!
Sheila
Thanks for clearing that up for me.So KBS is not painting a true picture of the social issues in Korea. They tend to make the daughters as if they are there to serve the parents or be a spoilt brat(Sua) or be a rich heiress or have some job with average pay.Except a drama like The Innocent Woman where the leading actress has a lot of responsibility.Whereas in my opinion, alot of women(ie.daughters),have big and powerful positions! That's why I didnt understand all this desperateness for a male heir!Cheers Sheila.

For me, the most interesting segment of the show is Seojae/Sua/Jiyeoung & their stories. I get bored with watching Baekho and Dapung & her other love interest -- Hyeong, I think his name is. And I get annoyed watching Sonya falling for Baekho's uncle (even though I know in good K-Drama form he will eventually make that business into a huge success, and he and Sonya and Chan will live happily ever after). The Seojae/Jiyeoung.Sua triangle is the most intriguing because I am not at all sure what the outcome will be.

Yeah, at times it seems they go "oh yeah, we forgot." and just slip a scene of Sonya and Uncle whatsit in there as a token or something. It's frustrating to watch Danpung put up with mr clingy, she's leading him on when she lets him off with everything. Step on his big toe already.
