I am new to AOW..........about 5 or 6 weeks........For reasons I am not quite sure of, I feel I am rapidly becoming hooked.............It is now the only TV I look forward to, except for an occasional History channel special now and then......I am grateful for all the info I am taking from many of your post's....It is helping me to get some things straight. So many characters with such un-familiar names makes it a little difficult.........My question right now is what is meant by "Archfiend"....It doesn't seem to be a name...........is it perhaps a title, or possibly an insult of some sort akin to "The Anti Christ" in Christianity...............Or just simply an enemy. I guess thats not too important but it has been bugging me for a while.............Since he died 3 or 4 weeks ago (WYBE-Phila) I thought I'd just ask..... thanx.........john

An Archfiend is monster or beast. Yi Ui Min us given the title because he was such a savage on the battlefield. Although later on in the series he was much a threat, but earlier in the show he was very dangerous.

Yi Ui Min recieved the nickname because he slaughtered many people without prejudice during the 1170 military coup. The real Yi Ui Min was a truly strong martial artist, but this show exagerates greatly.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that the Archfiend was able to stretch out and become a larger than life character with the help of that moniker. Without the Archfiend surface identity, his many human foibles would seem ordinary. In this way, we could all be part of the person in a way that YSS will not allow us.
