I was wondering if you AOW afficionados could answer a few questions. I missed a lot of the shows.
1. KDS was planning to leave the city and become a farmer, right? But didn't he give away all his father's land? So how did he expect to make a living?
2. What was the monetary system at this time? Did they just barter in grain, land, and jewelry? I don't think I ever saw anyone using a form of money, though bribes were often in the form of jewelry.
3. The capital city is walled in, but there were always views of the mountains and it looked like the estates e.g., Archfiend's, were spacious and out in open country. Just how large was this city? European cities of this age were also walled in and all the houses were tightly pressed together without a lot of spaciousness. Was the city really large enough to permit the wealthy to have these large estates within the walls?
4. I always assumed the emblems the men wore on their headbands denoted rank in the army. Any significance to different colored headbands?

1} KDS is a brat, who's father was a general that participated in the 1170 AD military coup. He has no clue what he wants, and never really leaves the city. Stupid pansy. He had two beautiful women after him, but he chose to stick with his male servants. I don't think that the korean writers meant this, though.
2} Gold and Silver was worth how much it weighed. Bribes were usually big pieces of either. I know that in Song China, they used silver coins, and ignots.
3} My guess is that since the capital {Song-Ak} was located by Mt. Song-Ak.
4} The warriors probably have the different colours so that it can be disinguished. Like in the Japanese film "Heaven and Earth", they had the Uesugi Clan armies, and the Takeda Clan armies, wearing Black and Red respectivly. Probably since the average viewer can't distinguish between traditional banners.
