Well, the new drama got off to a less-than-auspicious beginning, with frequent freezes and pixelization. I hope that is just an isolated glitch on this particular episode. I compared it with the version on KBS's Web site, and nothing was missing, so that's good.
As always, I'd forgotten how confusing it is when a whole new group of characters enters my life, especially for the Daily Dramas, with their multiple story lines.
Does anyone know about the Fund groups that Ajummas seem to have in these shows? You know, where one of them runs off with the money just when the main character really needs it.

Oddly enough, I recently learned something about this practice. It is called "geh" and it is spelled, kiyok and compound vowel "yaw-ee", I detest the "official Romanizations" because I fee they are imprecise at best, so I wrote it phonetically. Lacking proper Hangul font at my disposal, this is unfortuately the best I can do right now. . This practice was/is not limited to ajumanim, and it serves as the underground credit union for Korean merchants to acquire start up money for all manner of projects when they do not have the means to secure a loan through a bank. Each member contributes a share into the "pot" and the members then vote on the recipient of the funds, to be paid back with interest at the end of the period of the loan (usually a year, or so). However, as Soju so aptly pointed out, the loan recipient often absconds with the funds.

Ugh, can anyone give me a quick rundown on the episodes that have run so far? My reception has been so bad, I not only missed seeing the beginning of "Likable or Not," I missed the end of "High As the Sky." AFTER ALL THE TIME I SPENT WATCHING THE DARN THING! I will check KoreanWiz, too, of course.

My SIL from Thailand said that she and her friends or co-workers would put some money in a pot on paydays, like $5 IIRC, and different people would receive it in turns, so it wasn't a big amount of money. In this show, wasn't it a monthly thing, or did I hear it wrong? Why the son could get his hands on it when he's a ne'er do well...oh, well, part of the drama, I guess.

Soju, We just saw episode 1 last night on WYBE and had the same problems with the picture that you mentioned. Hopefully it won't continue. I was amazed at how many familiar faces there were.

You did hear right; the contributors deposited money monthly. It is now illegal in many countries in Asia as there have been too many cases of people running away with the money just when their 'term' ends.
