Yi Ui Bang, the strongest warrior, died and the most intelligent warrior, Chung-Bu, just got killed. Now we entered the KDS/Dobang era. After Chung-Bu was executed, KDS realized that his cause could be realized. Although the past warriors causes were solely on helping the people and creating a free corrupt government, KDS cause was the same with a twist. He wanted to actually bring back the system of pre-1170 rebellion, meaning that soldiers should only belong in the battlefield while the royal officials concentrate on state affairs. This new idea did not sit well with the soldiers in the Central Committee (we all knew that) but did wonders to the ministers in the royal court. The Emperor, Myong-Jong, also loved the idea (decreasing the power of the warriors gave the emperor and the court more power). Seeing the momentum of the 1170 rebellion diminishing, the Central Committee sent some representatives to manipulate the emperor. They accused KDS of trying to test the emperor. By KDS bringing back the old system, Myong-Jong will be looked down upon and become an emperor who was initiated by warriors rather than an emperor who really deserved the throne. Myong-Jong was now scared of the situation and analyzed what he should do with the empress dowager. Meanwhile, KDS was scaring the heck out of everyone. Everyone begun kissing his feet and buying him gifts since his crew took down the Chungs. KDS decided not to kill the people supporting the Chungs but wanted full cooperation on keeping this government clean of abuse for power. Huh Seung , on the other hand, despised the weak Myong-Jong for his lackluster authority to his subordinates and wanted to install the crown prince instead. So, Huh gathered some of the leftovers from his secret army with KDS and began to guard the prince and see if he was worthy or not. In the north, Yi Ui Min was heartbroken with the “death” of Bu-young but some great news for the Archfiend arrived. His destined Shilla army were gathering and was on the way to the Archfiend. The Archfiend met his new generals for his new army. Jasun and General Choi. Their new goal: To take down the Koryo dynasty and resurrect Shilla. When General Park died, the Archfiend went berserk and lost his dedication to the rise of the Shilla Kingdom. Master Duduel, seeing the sudden behavior change, began to question if Yi Ui Min was really the right man for the job. While second-guessing, Duduel heard about the death of the Chungs by an unknown young soldier by the name of Kyung Dae Sung. Duduel decided to investigate this young man and see what he was all about so he asked Ui Min to send him and Brue to spy on KDS and see if he was a threat to Ui Min and also to check on the situation in the imperial city. When Duduel and Brue entered the city, they went to visit KDS. Duduel asked KDS what he would do if the city were attacked and KDS respond saying that he would fight with every inch of his body. Duduel also mentioned that Ui Min is still alive and might want to return to the city again. KDS gave Duduel a crazed stare that told Duduel how KDS felt about Ui Min. Duduel, impressed with KDS determination, decided to test Ui Min and see if he is truly the imperial dragon. He sliced some of Brue's hair (cutting someone hair gave an illusion that the person was beheaded) and sent it back to Ui Min. When Ui Min realize that his friend, Brue, “died”, Ui Min lost his mind and began to go out of control. His new generals and army were concerned about their new master horrendous behavior but Ui Min could care less. In a final decision to try to bring his leader back to sanity, General Choi killed his little brother to show Ui Min that he sacrificed his only brother to feel the same pain as his leader. Shocked by the immense loyalty, Ui Min shaped up from his drunken state and became determined to reach his goal.

SUB PLOT - The formation of DobangDuring the Chungs dictatorship, Huh Sueng decided to infiltrate the Chungs by becoming Chun Kyun personal bodyguard. KDS wasn’t thrill about his friend decision but he needed someone on the inside of the Chungs to plan out his move. The Chungs and officials in the Central Committee were, meanwhile, embezzling peasants of their lands and selling it to the highest bidders and giving out governmental duties for money. With his new bodyguard, Chun Kyun sent Huh Seung to take care of some of the peasants that decided to fight back. In the group of peasants was a brother and sister named Oh-chuk and Soran . Huh Seung, trying to keep his true intentions hidden from Chun, followed Chun orders and destroyed Oh-chuk and Soran village. In the process, Oh-chuk got injured in a scuffle with Huh Seung. The next day, Lt. Kim and KDS saw the beaten brother and sister and told Lt. Kim to help the young man. When Oh-chuk recovered, they told KDS about what happened and who was responsible for their village destruction. When KDS heard what Huh Seung did he was stunned to hear what his friend did to obtain a certain goal. On another part of town, the people in KDS father’s land were pissed off at the demands of the Chungs (remember, KDS father sold his lands to become peaceful with the Chungs again). They marched to KDS house and demanded that he take back his father’s property (KDS clan treated the peasants better than the Chungs). KDS replied that he held no government post any more so he can’t do anything about it. By this time, Oh-chuk and Soran were now loyal to the kind hospitality of KDS and pledged their life to KDS. Huh Seung paid KDS a surprise visit that set off Oh-chuk and Soran. KDS calmed the two and send them off. After the fall of the Chungs, KDS gained back his father’s property and his rank in the military. Oh-chuk and Soran brought in two more people from their town to join KDS cause. KDS accepted them but was still thinking about Huh Seung cold behavior. The local people were happy about the new leader who killed the Chungs. People gathered around KDS house and proclaimed their desire to join KDS cause. KDS refused all help and send the crowd out. Among the crowd, a local bandit, calling himself Do-Soh , told KDS that he was impressed with KDS and would like the honor of serving a great warrior. KDS refused the request but Do-Sohn and his crew kneeled down and positioned themselves for a sit-in. KDS scolded at them for disobeying his request but Lt. Kim told KDS that they had a lot of heart and he needed to surround himself with people like them. KDS, being hard to reason with, left the men outside. Oh-Chuk was not fond of the new guy because of his reckless behavior and his past. Oh-Chuk stated his mind on the matter and started off a brawl between the two factions of Oh-Chuk and his townsmen against Doh-Sohn and his crew. KDS walked in the middle of the brawl and dismissed both factions from his house for acting like bunch of babies. Oh-Chuk and Doh-Sohn were so ashamed that they pour gasoline on their bodies and pledged to kill themselves for embarrassing KDS. Before they could ignite the flames, KDS realized that these men were serious about their loyalty to him. KDS told Lt. Kim to build a house for these men to train. And thus, the group Dobang was born. Dobang Goal: To cease any corruption in the government and helping the people in need. To be continued…

Huh Seung began scheming on how to eliminate the Emperor. His causes had changed from the original cause of KDS. Huh Seung new goal was to kill off all the corrupted officials, overthrow the Emperor, and start a new empire with the crown prince. But there was a problem in his quest: KDS and his Dobang group. Huh Seung saw KDS new Dobang soldiers and was quite threaten of the new strength behind KDS, so he employed new guards into his group to even out with KDS. Huh, seeing an obstacle, decided the best way to get rid of KDS was to increase the tension the emperor and the royal officials had for KDS. He ordered the killing of a general named Oh and framed KDS for trying to scare the court for more power. The emperor trust in KDS was completely gone and saw him as another power hungry dictator like Chung-Bu and Yi Ui Bang. General Du talked to KDS about the murder and asked for an explanation. KDS was pissed off and asked Dobang to do an investigation on the matter. Lt Kim finds out that Huh Seung was behind it all along. KDS asked Huh to join him for some drinks between good friends. Meanwhile, the Dobang soldiers were murdering Huh Seung army behind the scene. In the meeting, both men were laughing with malicious intentions in their voices. When Huh got word about his men being slaughtered Huh drew out his sword and challenged KDS. The two fought one on one with KDS becoming victorious by Huh Seung killing himself. After Brue’s “death”, Duduel went back to Yi Ui Min to see how he handled it. The two generals, Jasun and General Choi, explained what happened after the incident. Master Duduel was now worried of the possibility of choosing the wrong guy. The Shilla army were now ready for combat but now needed a strategy going in the imperial city. Master Duduel wasn’t sure if this was the right move for the Shilla army to make after speaking to KDS. He told Yi Ui Min that he was definitely against the preemptive strike. Jasun began to questioned Master Duduel loyalty and asked why he was in the imperial city for so long. And why didn’t he protect Brue’s from his “murder”. Ui Min also began to question Master Duduel and banned Duduel from the operation. Duduel, seeing Ui Min change and KDS helping the people with his Dobang group, decided to go back to the imperial city and informed KDS of the Shilla army and Ui Min plans. (THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL!!!) KDS, shocked by the news, informed the central committee and his Dobang soldiers about the preemptive strike. General Du is rather disturbed of his friend actions and decided to go with KDS plan to see if the rumor was true. KDS and the Central Committee planned a counterattack around the imperial city for the incoming Shilla army. The decisive battle for the imperial city was now underway. With the knowledge of all the ins and outs of the shilla army (thanks to master duduel), the imperial army and KDS dobang group destroyed Ui Min’s army. Fleeing for his life, Ui Min encountered his old friend General Du. General Du had the only road for safety blocked. General Du, having complete loyalty to his old friend, opened a path for his escape. But General Du told Ui Min to never threaten the seat of the throne again or his arrow will find its way to Ui Min’s heart. KDS, on the trail of Ui Min, demandd an answer for General Du actions. General Du looks at KDS and told him that he wouldn’t understand such a deep friendship even if he tried.

SUB PLOTGeneral Cho AKA Metro sexual Warrior was first a soldier in the command of Yi Ui Bang. He was mostly overlooked because of superior men such as Yi Ui Min and General Park. During the end of Yi Ui Bang life, Cho betrayed his leader and sided with Chung-Bu and his clan. In his new alliance, Cho became a general and was used by the Chungs to control the army for them. When the Chungs died, he suddenly looked for options to stay alive. He tried to befriend KDS but KDS was not having it. So his next move was to align himself with the greedy officials in the court and gain some support to later overthrow the Emperor and become the sole ruler of Koryo. He is best known for his decorative capes that glides as he walks pass. (Sorry, I couldn't find a pic of him with his gown on) Main Plot..... KDS, now, is totally obsessed with Yi Ui Min. Ui Min is the only warrior standing in the way of KDS cause. The Emperor was also against KDS plans and denounced his loyalty to KDS. By killing Huh Seung and chasing out Yi Ui-Min, whom the Emperor thought was a loyal subject, The Emperor saw KDS as someone who was trying to eliminate competition. Funds for the group Dobang were becoming very low and money was needed for the “cause” to be realized. KDS cousin and Lt. Kim took bribes from some of the Central Committee members in order for Dobang to continue their operations. When Ui Min was escaping the assault on his army he met up with Brue. Ui Min was shocked because he thought Brue got killed. Another surprise shocked Ui Min because Brue could now speak. Brue carried Ui Min to a nearby boat where Bu-Young was also waiting for him. Ui Min believed he was losing his mind but the imperial army was behind him so he was back to reality. They all entered the boat and headed north again. When Ui Min reached north, everything was explained to him about the “deaths” of Brue and Bu-Young and the meaning for it. (Which was to awaken Ui Min). Ui Min first wife also made the trip and brought their kids with her. Ji-Soon Yi Ji Young Ji Kwang In a meeting with the Central Committee, KDS proclaimed that he would punish anyone who was involved with bribery or corruption even it was one of his men. The Central Committee laughed at KDS remarks and told him that his group is actually supported with bribery money. KDS is puzzled and embarrassed about the situation. When KDS learned what Lt. Kim did he whipped Kim unconscious. The Dobang group pleaded KDS to stop but KDS needed to prove his loyalty to the Emperor and continued. General Du spoke to KDS on the matter of Lt. Kim. General Du told KDS that Lt. Kim was ruining his cause with greedy intentions and needed to be stopped. KDS told Du that he issued the commands for Lt. Kim actions. General Du, knowing KDS is just trying to protect Lt. Kim, stated that protecting a fellow friend cannot rectify the regime and strong sacrifices must be made. After the whipping, Lt. Kim regretted the killing Huh and wished he joined him in replacing the emperor. KDS apologized for his action to Lt. Kim and told him to stop all operations with Dobang. KDS also stated that he might leave the city, become a local farmer, and disband Dobang because of not having the Emperor acknowledgement on his "Cause". Lt. Kim and Dobang were shocked with the announcement. Meanwhile, Lt. Kim received reports that a local magistrate was taking grains from the people. Lt. Kim and the Dobang group, still believing the “Cause”, marched to the magistrate house and emptied out his food supplies to feed the peasants. This action infuriated KDS and became too impatient with Lt. Kim actions. KDS ordered Soran to bring Lt. Kim to him when all of a sudden blood came flowing out of KDS mouth.

After coughing up blood, KDS told Soran that he was all right and to ready his horse. Soran was quite concern about her commander and his physical state. KDS wrote a resignation for his removal from the government since his loyalty to his superior was being ignored. Lt. Kim was not happy with that action and planned to stop KDS by any means. General Cho needed a way to eliminate KDS so he created a rumor about KDS planning a coup. Upon hearing this, KDS rushed to the imperial palace to state his undying loyalty to the empire. (By this time, KDS quest of saving the people were gone and he concentrated only on trying to be on the good side of the emperor.) Myong Jong refused to see KDS and asked him to leave. Crying for recognition from his emperor, KDS collapse and is forced to rest. Mater Duduel visited to KDS estate and talked to the ill KDS. Before the talked, Soran fixed him a medicine to take for his illness. KDS drunk the potion but became even worse. Master Duduel evaluated the medicine and concluded that the medicine was poisoned. KDS was stunned to know that someone close to him was after his life. As time went on, Kyung realized that Lt. Kim was poisoning him for the sole purpose of keeping KDS in the city and continuing the “Cause”. KDS approached Lt. Kim about his plot and Kim became so ashamed that he offered his life. Kyung said he would not allow him that dignity and ordered him removed from Dobang and from the Kyung clan. ( In reality, KDS made a promise that if he lost the way of the "great cause" Lt. Kim would have to kill him. So Lt. Kim was actually following orders from KDS himself.) While Lt. Kim was leaving the city, Gen. Cho ordered that Lt. Kim be taken prisoner and interrogated by torture. But, despite heavy torture, Kim refused to implicate Kyung in a coup plot. Ui-min’s second wife, Bu-Young, is pregnant (Yeah!!). But Ui Min’s sons were not happy about the news. Feeling like the new beauty was replacing their mother, the two younger ones (the troublemakers) kidnapped the second wife, dumped her in the forest and killed the fetus by slashing Bu-Young belly opened. When Ui Min found out what his sons did he ordered General Choi to treat them like any soldier and force discipline. Bu-Young became the firing target from Ui Min’s First wife and his two younger sons. Enough was enough, so she decided she was causing too much distraction for Ui Min to obtain his goal. Bu-Young left again and brought a new woman to replace her. The evil witch from the north, Aran. Kyung was very depressed and ill. So what was next for our hero? You guessed right, a lovely dream. He confronts Chung Bu about his mistake of not taking the throne. After some talks with Chung Bu, KDS sat down in a courtyard by himself to reflect his new actions. Soran and the Dobang group found KDS sleeping sound asleep. When Soran tapped KDS, the truth became apparent and KDS was dead. The Whole Dobang group grieved in heart-wrenching fashion. The Emperor hearing the news ordered the elimination of Dobang for conspiracy for his thrown. General Cho and the imperial army busted into KDS estate and slaughtered the Dobang army. Doh-son and Oh-chuk were among the dead. Soran, on the other hand, escaped and hasn’t been seen since. The remaining Dobang soldiers were exiled to a nearby island where they later died.

Note to all: The crappy part of the show is done. Now it's going to be back to goodness. Remember, anything that happened after Chung Jung Bu's death, and before the slaughter of Dobang is unimportant.

AOW is a very long story that involved a lot of characters. In my summaries, I only concentrated on the main characters and the story around them. In this summary, I’m going to try to detail some of the characters that had small roles, but were very influential to the overall drama series. Enjoy!!!! Kim’s Rebellion A loyal Subject of the previous emperor, Ui Jong. When Ui Jong was exiled by the warriors, Kim decided to rescue Ui Jong and overthrow the warriors. He gathered many of the remains of Ui Jong faithful men and build an army to take the imperial city. Unfortunately, Kim was a Royal official and not a soldier. His army was crushed by the command of Yi Ui Bang . ?? Mang-yi Peasant brothers who decided to challenge Chung-Bu reign. They gathered farmers from around the region and rebelled against the land rents, taxes, tribute payments, and the conditions of forced labor. They took Districts after District and continued until Chung-Bu sent the imperial army to put an end to the revolt. They were captured and executed publicly. Yi Kwang Jong Started as Ensign in the Imperial Convoys. He was in charge of the deposed Ui Jong. This warrior is mostly known as Monkey Man from members of this forum. This soldier jumped sides more than anyone in the show. He was a soldier in Yi Ui Bang army, but when Yi Ui Bang died, Chung-Bu offered him a position in the royal court. Since then, he’s been hoping to the most powerful leader just to stay alive. He was close to Chung-Bu and the Chung Clan, Huh Seung, KDS, Yi Ui Min, General Cho, and Choi Choong Hon. Cho We Chong - Viceroy of Pyongnyang {it's the current capitol of North Korea} Viceroy Cho was a leader in the western part of the country. The military district in the west did not like the thought of deposing Emperor Ui Jong. They were very against the soldiers action in the imperial city. When they learned that the emperor was exiled, the local people erupted and rebelled. Yi Ui Bang decided to fix the problem and marched west. When he reached his destination, Viceroy Cho ordered his fort to be closed and not to negotiate with Yi Ui Bang. Yi Ui Bang decided to surround the fort and to wait until their food supply ran out. Viceroy Cho’s son decided to go talk with Yi Ui Bang. Yi Ui Bang dismissed the teenager and wanted to face Viceroy Cho. The next day, the boy came back again and this time wanted to duel with Ui Bang. Again, Ui Bang dismissed the boy and said next time he’ll kill the boy if he bothered him with juvenille demands. The boy, again, came out and requested a duel. Ui Bang accepted and killed him by beheading him. Viceroy Cho was crushed after his son head was brought back to the fort. Viceroy had enough with the killing and surrendered. He killed himself while his army were killed by the imperial army. Maail wrote a great detailed summary about Viceroy Cho here: deiner.proboards18.com/index.cgi?board=warriors&action=display&thread=1102280822&start=30Minister Moon. Minister Moon is probably the most revered person on the show. Even strong warriors as Yi Ui Bang, Chung Bu, KDS, and Yi Ui Min, all listen to his advice. He was among those who were killed during the start of the 1170 rebellion, but the warriors decided not to kill him because he voiced his opinion on the way the soldiers were treated. As power-hungry warriors took power, he continued his trademark on scolding warriors on their behaviors. to be continued.....

THE REAL REASON FOR CHOOSING MYONG-JONG AS EMPEROR Yi Ui Bang, Yi Ko, and Che Won wanted Prince Dae Ryung, on the throne, because he was a strong man, who would never be controlled by evil officials. {Years before, after Ui Jong took The throne, he and his officials, schemed to have Dae-Ryung framed for treason, and exiled, because he had challanegd the system of evil officials controllign everything.} so when Yi Ui Bang brought it up, every official, put their hands on their necks, to make sure their heads were still attached. On the other hand, Chung Bu needed an emperor who he could control, so he used that secret letter, to threaten the Empress Dowager into choosing Prince Ik-Yang {moyng jong} Yi ui Bang sent his men to bring Dae-Ryung back to the city as soon as possible, but it was too late. Chung Kyun had already assassinated Dae-Ryung. This lead to some excellent episodes. At one point, Yi Ko had taken Ik-Yang {Myong Jong} hostage, and at another, Yi ui Bang killed the entire central commitee {except Chung Jung Bu}, and gained control of the entire military. (Credit goes to ID for the great summary)
