Bo, D'oh! Yes, nene, I was LOOKING RIGHT AT THAT cast list in wikipedia, and I just missed her. I looked at it over and over again, but maybe the problem was, I could not remember her character's name, either. Or maybe the problem was, my eyes were glazing over at that point. Thanks so much, I needed it for my article. Yes, I finished the show and I even bought a decent copy for myself. I do like it, but I think there are better dramas out there. Oh, well, to each her own. Bo Actually, I couldn't remember the doctor's name either. Hehehe, I had to check some episodes for her name. I agree, it's not a great drama. There're some flaws, but I enjoyed watching a particular person (Hyun Bin). I'm jealous of you for having a nice butt. For me, I'm flat. I was contemplating buying butt enhancers but gave up because they don't look natural. Some said sometimes pads move out of shape--one high and one low, hahaha. Another good news! Choi Ji Woo will be in a new drama "Oh! My Goddess".

If we're lucky, the Asian star actress Choi Ji-woo will make a comeback through a drama. "Oh! My Goddess" is an SBS drama hopefully starring Choi as top actress Lee Marie. The writer for "Lovers in Paris" has written this piece where Lee Marie will be chased by four men who show their affections for her. Many people related to this production are optimistic about this drama's success. Although Choi's company has not finalized anything yet, but it is under positive consideration.
Choi's last drama was "Air City" in July of 2007. Her comeback into the screens has taken her a year and 6 months.
It's been so long since "Winter Sonata". I fell in love with her when I saw her and BYJ in "Dancing Queen" part. They're so cute and funny.
I wish they could team up again in another k-drama. They're so lovely together. Love them both.

NEW DELHI -- Warner Bros has filed a lawsuit against Mumbai-based banner Mirchi Movies related to the title of its upcoming movie "Hari Puttar -- A Comedy of Terrors," which Warners feels is a tad too similar to its "Harry Potter" franchise.
The case is being heard in the Bombay High Court and comes up for hearing Monday, while "Hari Puttar" is slated for a Sept. 12 release.
Chinese cats grow 'wings'
Tom cats in Sichuan province in southern China have sprouted wing-like growths on their backs, which locals are attributing to the hot summer weather and the romantic attentions of females.
One animal started to develop the "wings" during a period of hot weather in Sichuan, a large province in southern China where a devastating earthquake struck this spring.
Although the growths appear fluffy, they contain bone. But veterinary experts say that despite the hard inner core, the flaps do not harm the cat's quality of life or safety.
Several animals were photographed with the furry protuberances by a local newspaper photographer.
"At first they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings," said one cat's owner, who was only identified as Feng.
"Many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow," she told the local Huashang News.
Although Feng attributed her pet's condition to the stress of a feline love life and the hot Sichuan summer. However, scientists said the wings had a less romantic explanation.
In fact, the hairy growths probably developed because of unusual grooming habits, a genetic defect or a hereditary skin condition. (telegragh)

jinju,
Wow, Choi Soo Jong and Shin Hyun Joon are so handsome. They look younger than their real age. Hope to see both of them in new dramas soon. I miss them. The news about Lee Eon was sad indeed. I hope they can find out who caused this tragic accident.
Thank you so much for the links and the pictures of the statues. They're amazing.
While searching for entertainment news, I found one more great drama to watch. If you like "Jumong", you'll like "Kingdom of the Wind". It's a new history drama series starring Song Il Gook and some talented and attractive actors and actresses. Guess what? It's going to debut on Sept 10 too. The tv ratings war is going to be fierce. KBS is pitting "Kingdom of the Wind" against MBC's Beethoven Virus and SBS's Tazza. Wow, these dramas will clash. It's hard to predict who's gonna win. IMO, it's a tough call. KINGDOM OF THE WIND
OFFICIAL WEBSITE
Another title : The Land of Wind Director : Kang Il Soo (Emperor of the Sea/ Haesin) Writer : Choi Wan Gyu , Jung Jin Ok , Park Jin Woo Remake of the comic book by Kim Jin
Main cast : Song Il Gook as Prince Moo Hyul / Daemoosin Jung Jin Young as King Yuri Park Gun Hyung as Prince Do Jin Jang Tae Sung as Moo Hyul's friend Choi Jung Won as Princess Yeon (Daemoosin's concubine) Lee Jung Won as Prince Hae Myeong (Moo Hyul's half brother) Kim Sang Ho as Ma Hwang Kim Won Hyo as Gong Chan Oh Yoon Ah
Episode : 36 Broadcast : KBS 2 Aired : September 10, 2008 Official Website
Synopsis The story is centering on the third king of Kogooryeo, "Daemooshin," who intended to expand his country beyond the Booyeo, Nakrang and Chinese Han Empire, and for his son Hodong.
King Yuri, compared to the previous king, Dongmyoungseong of Kogooryo, lived in perpetual fear that he might not be recognized as a king and killed both of his sons when he felt threatened. King Daemooshin, pledged not to be such a man, but when he becomes king he grows to be like his father. Hodong, the son of king Daemooshin, observes his father's change to a hard, cold person. So, the main theme of this work is the growing solitude of a king who may have the world but loses love and his family, and the agony of others who see the changing king. We are moved by the harmony of the characters in this narration expressed so poetically and by the thick lines that may not easily be shown in boy-meets-girl stories.
Booyeo: The country founded by Haemosoo who landed on a wagon drawn by five dragons sent from the heavens about 3200 years ago.
Kogooryeo: The country founded by Joomong who was fathered by the king of Booyeo and born to the daughter of Habaek (the god of water) in Manchuria in the middle of the 1st century before Christ. Most of the current northeastern Chinese area belonged to Kogooryeo. (credits: all korean drama, koreapop)

;D No problem for me because they're not available on TV in my area. I'll watch them online. ;D
I'm particularly interested in the female lead--Choi Jung Won, the female lead because one blogger mentioned that she and Crystal Liu bear some resemblance. Here's the pictures: IMO, both of them are stunningly beautiful. At a glance, Choi Jung Won and Crystal Liu definitely have some resemblance--looks, build and height. What do you think?
Besides her beauty, Choi Jung Won is also very talented. She won Most Popular and Excellence in Acting at KBS Drama Awards (2006). She's also a rising star and voted as one of 2008's actors with the most potential.
CHOI JUNG WON She's so gorgeous. I'm glad there're some more good dramas for us to watch. Can't wait to see "Kingdom of the Wind".

Can you guess who's the gentleman in the picture below? jinju, I will travel to Oregon and I'm going to stay there for a few weeks. I'll talk to you soon. Enjoy Beethoven Virus and Kingdom of the Wind. P.S. A small earthquake (4.2) caused a big jolt and some excitement around the bay area last night. It shook my computer desk and there's a brief power outage. All the info I prepared to post for you just disappeared before my eyes. Luckily, there's no damage. I'll talk to you soon.

tinkerbell, You were in North Carolina when they caught that big fish? Wow, that's fantastic! Do you still have those rabbits? I love rabbits too. I used to see some at Jatujak Weekend Market long time ago. I was about to buy one but my family disagreed, so we chose a cute puppy instead. We had our cute dog for a week and then it became sick. We took it to the vet and we're very angry to find out that the vendor was dishonest. He sold us a sick dog with a heart worm disease. The vet couldn't save him and he finally died. That's very sad. While surfing around the web, I came across some more amazing news for you.
Stingray Hunter By MICHAEL CASEY AP Environmental Writer Article Launched: 07/19/2008 10:35:24 AM PDT SAMUT SONGKRAM, Thailand—Rushing across a temple parking lot, British angler Rick Humphreys yells, "We've got a fish."
He jumps into a small motorboat on the Maeklong River in time to see Wirat Moungnum bring the prize to the surface—a rare, giant freshwater stingray that weighs as much as 44 pounds.
It bursts through the murky water exposing a soft, white underbelly the size of a trash can lid. The crew scrambles to string a rope through its gill-like slits and wrap a towel around its 5-foot-long tail that has a venomous barb.
"It's a start," Humphreys says almost apologetically. The specimen is a tenth of the size of the largest rays. "There are a lot bigger ones than that."
Humphreys is serving as
a guide for American biologist Zeb Hogan, who is on a worldwide quest for the largest freshwater fish. Lights out? Fireflies may be dwindling, experts fear

Ban Lomtuan, Thailand — Preecha Jiabyu used to take tourists on a rowboat to see the banks of the Mae Klong River aglow with thousands of fireflies.
These days, all he sees are the fluorescent lights of hotels, restaurants and highway overpasses. He says he’d have to row a good two miles to see trees lit up with the magical creatures of his younger days.
“The firefly populations have dropped 70 percent, in the past three years,” said Preecha, 58, a former teacher who started providing dozens of row boats to compete with polluting motor boats. “It’s sad. They were a symbol of our city.”
The fate of the insects drew more than 100 entomologists and biologists to Thailand’s northern city of Chiang Mai last week for an international symposium on the “Diversity and Conservation of Fireflies.”
They then traveled Friday to Ban Lomtuan, an hour outside of Bangkok, to see the synchronous firefly Pteroptyx malaccae — known for its rapid, pulsating flashing that look like Christmas lights.
Yet another much-loved species imperiled by humankind? The evidence is entirely anecdotal, but there are anecdotes galore.
From backyards in Tennessee to riverbanks in Southeast Asia, researchers said they have seen fireflies — also called glowworms or lightning bugs — dwindling in number.
No single factor is blamed, but researchers in the United States and Europe mostly cite urban sprawl and industrial pollution that destroy insect habitat. The spread of artificial lights also could be a culprit, disrupting the intricate mating behavior that depends on a male winning over a female with its flashing backside.
The story is quite disturbing. I used to play with fireflies when I was a small child. I was fascinated by them and they're incredibly beautiful. I hope those scientists will help Thailand solve this problem very soon.

TWO FACED KITTEN (Grove City, OH) A kitten possessing two distinct faces was born in this Ohio city last week in what veterinarians call a "very rare" and "bizarre" occurrence.
The young feline has has two mouths, two noses, and four eyes that have yet to open. The mouths apparently mew in unison.
The scientific term for this mutation is diprosopus, which is also known as craniofacial duplication.
Charles Roberts, the boy who owns the kittens and the mother, said he hasn't decided on a name for the kitten, but he is leaning toward the name "Tiger."
The idea of owning a two-faced cat apparently does not faze young Roberts.
"I was playing outside in the rain. Once I came in, I saw a two-faced cat my mom was picking up," he said. "That's how I knew there was a two-faced cat." A Piglet With Two Faces

jinju,
I just got back from attending my relative's wedding. It's small but nice. I liked it. Her parents chose a Thai restaurant food catering service for her wedding. Guests were impressed with everything. They enjoyed having delicious Thai food. The wedding reception was wonderful. It was done in a relaxing and casual atmosphere. The bride and the groom seem to be a romantic couple because they had the wedding reception at a ranch. The scenery is breathtaking, serene and private. Unfortunately, the road to the venue is narrow and winding, so I got carsick. Anyway, everything is perfect and now they're on their way to their honeymoon. Wishing them a wonderful life of love and happiness together!
Do you want to learn how to cook Thai food? You can start with two of the most popular Thai dishes: Green Chicken Curry and Pad Thai. You'll love it.
Thai Green Curry with Chicken
Recipe (3-4 persons)
3 tbs of green curry paste 1 can of coconut milk 1 cup of water 600 grams of boneless, skinless chicken thighs( they taste better than chicken breasts) 6 small Thai eggplants (hard to find) or 1 purple eggplant ( a good substitute) A handful of Thai or sweet basil leaves 2 fresh red and green peppers 1-2 tbs of fish sauce Directions
Cut the chicken into small pieces. In a large, heavy-based saucepan, heat the curry paste and about 1/4 cup of coconut milk over a moderate heat. Stir well to break up the paste and bring to boil. Add the chicken. Stir and coat the chicken with curry sauce and simmer for a few minutes to cook the chicken. Add the eggplants when the chicken starts to turn white. Add the rest of the coconut milk and water. Season with palm sugar and fish sauce. Simmer for a few minutes to cook the eggplants. Add the basil leaves just before you serve and make sure the leaves are submerged quickly in the curry to preserve the color. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh green and red pepers and basils. Serve with hot Thai jasmine rice. Enjoy!
I also found videos showing how to make authentic Thai Green Chicken Curry.
I think it's very easy to follow the demonstration in the videos above. Don't worry about wild ginger, aubergines(devil's figs) and kiffer leaves. I don't use them either because they're difficult to find here. Enjoy!
How about Pad Thai? Have you ever tried this famous Thai dish? It's also very common in Thailand. It's like eating hamburgers in America. You wanna try? Here's the recipe and the directions:
PAD THAI WITH PRAWNS
Ingredients(2-3 persons)
1 cup fresh shrimps, peeled half a package of rice noodles 1 cup extra firm tofu strips 2 cups bean sprouts 4 tablespoon chopped roasted peanuts 4-5 tablespoon corn oil for stir frying 3 shallots, thinly sliced 1/4 cup dried shrimps, soaked in warm water 1/2 cup chopped pickled radish/turnip 2 tbs ground red chilli 2 tbs white sugar 2 eggs 1 cup garlic chives, cut into 1 inch lengths (or scallions) 4-5 tbsp. of Pad Thai Sauce PAD THAI SAUCE Ingredients Fish sauce, tamarind juice, palm sugar, white sugar Directions In a saucepan, mix 2 parts of fish sauce with 1 part of each tamarind water, white sugar and palm sugar
HOW TO MAKE PAD THAI Soak the noodles in warm water until soft, stir fry. Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Fry shallots until fragrant Add salted white radish and bean curd and stir fry until slightly golden Add fresh prawns and keep stir frying Add some water and continue frying Move everything to one side of the wok Crack eggs , scramble the eggs ,mix well and keep frying until the eggs are well mixed Move everything to one side of the wok and add some water Bring the water to a boil before adding a handful of thin rice noodles Cook the noodles Season with ground chilli Add dry shrimps, add 3 tbs of the Pad Thai seasoning sauce Fry everything until most of the liquids evaporated Add bean sprouts and Chinese chives or scallions and fry for 30 sec. Garnish with white sugar, crushed peanuts and ground chilli. Add lime wedge and sprinkle with bean sprouts BTW, have you seen jewelry related to TWSSG yet? I found them on zoom on bae yong joon. Here are some of them:
I think they're very beautiful. These beautiful pictures made me want to watch the Four Gods again. Have they released TWSSG with eng subtitles yet? I hope we'll have them soon.
Have you seen KSW and STY's wedding invitation card? It's so lovely and beautiful. I'm so happy for both of them.
[ChanMi's star news] Kwon-Son couple's wedding invitation card! The wedding is so real now! It was hard to believe, and now we have a tangible proof that they are really getting married this 28th! Nene, congratulations on your relative's wedding. It sounds lovely (except for the carsickness part). I want to thank you for the pad thai recipe, it is my favorite dish (I like it with tofu or shrimp). I love lad nar, too, but it is difficult to find it the way I like to have it done. The first time I had lad nar, it was at a little Thai restaurant in a neighborhood where I went to school, and the noodles kind of had crispy edges and were a little carmelized, but now whenever I order it, it comes all limp with no texture. That restaurant is closed, too. Sad Bo...lol...it's like my mother's chili, which is really a sort of soup, and I don't like any other kind of chili. Well, actually, my boyfriend makes a really good Cincinnati style chili and I like that. (It's funny, I don't seem to care if my pad thai is different every time, but that lad nar...it was sooooooooo good...) But I digress... Have any of you guys seen Hur June? I am watching it right now. The guy who played Prince/King Kumwa in Jumong is the lead character. Very good so far, but it's hard to separate him from King Kumwa, because this character is actually very much like the Jumong character, so my brain is always going, "Wait! Not right! Ack!" Bo

Bo According to several sources, Choi Ji-woo will star in the joint Korea-Japan production of Star's Lover (Lovers in Asuka, Oh! Goddess). Choi Ji-woo to Star in Korea-Japan Co-Production Choi Ji-woo Korea’s pan-Asian star Choi Ji-woo has been cast in a melodrama to be jointly produced by Korea and Japan. Set in Nara Prefecture in Japan’s Kansai region, “Lovers in Asuka” is aimed at revitalizing the Korean Wave or Korean pop culture craze once again. The producers wanted to cast a top actress for the heroine and finally alighted on Choi. Shooting will start in early September for airing in December.
A spokesman for Choi said the actress is devoting herself to get ready for the shooting of the drama without making any other schedules. Korean and Japanese production, broadcasting and marketing companies have joined hands for content creation, investment, production, broadcasting and distribution for the 20-episode drama.
Korea’s Olive9 will be responsible for production and Japan’s Dentsu Group for investment attraction and distribution. Nara Prefecture and Osaka University of Art have already formed a production support group for the drama and are working to come up with plans to provide systematic support.

Mini series debuts Dec 2008 Title was first called "Oh ! My Goddess 오! 나의 여신님". Joint Korean & Japanese production; Olive Nine and a japanese advertising company.
Director : Bu Sung Chul 부성철 Sscriptwriter : Oh Soo-yeon 오수연 ("Autumn's Tale", "Winter Sonata") Cast : Choi Ji Woo, Yoo Ji Tae YOO JI TAE CAST IN STAR'S LOVER
Actor Yoo Ji Tae, who usually only acts in movies, will play in the much anticipated television drama “Star’s Lover”, previously known as “Oh! My Goddess”. He will be playing as an undergraduate trying to woo top star Choi Ji Woo.
According to a representative from SBS, Yoo Ji Tae has already reached an agreement with the production company. The only remaining step is to sign the contract, therefore this is as good as confirmed. The representative continued that with the addition of Yoo Ji Tae, the cast selection for “Star’s Lover” is already completed. The shooting will begin the latest in the start of October.
Although Yoo Ji Tae had acted in many movies, he only acted once in a drama which was a two-episode miniseries, Lost Baggage (Love Story) in 1999. Therefore, the casting of Yoo Ji Tae with Choi Ji Woo will no doubt help push the popularity of the drama.
In “Star’s Lover”, Yoo Ji Tae will play as an ordinary undergraduate, who falls in love with top actress Lee Ma Ri (Choi Ji Woo). “Star’s Lover” is scheduled to premiere in December, replacing “The Painter of the Wind“. (Hanfever)
Are you familiar with Yoo Ji Tae? It's the first time I've heard about him. I hope he's good. Can't wait to see this new series! ;D

A man smiles lazily at a woman opinting a sword directly at him. Except for the blood and sweat, they might for all the world be at a garden party, lounging negligently, but are revealed to be levitating in the treetops, resting between some interrupted conversation. She leaps. They fight, fling through the fragile-looking bamboo lurching in the wind of their gyrating feet."

I heard about Damo from jinju several months back but didn't have time to watch it. After reading your review, I was impressed and decided to give it a try. Wow, I'm glad I watch Damo. It's one of the best period dramas I've seen. I can't believe I miss this wonderful series. The opening scene is very powerful and I get hooked from the first 10 minutes of the story. I was mesmerized by the beautiful cinematography, the martial arts fighting on a high-wire, and the awesome action choreography. I wholeheartedly admire this great cast: Ha Ji-won from Hwang Jin-yi, Lee Seo-jin from Yi San, Kim Min-joon from Ireland and Lee Moon-sik from Iljimae. Their acting skills are second to none. I love them all especially Ha Ji-won. She's so beautiful and super talented. I'm touched by her excellent performance in this drama. She acts naturally and really gives her all. Lee Seo-jin is also outstanding. He's a great actor with versatility. He captures my heart with his portrayal of this handsome but lonely commander. I can feel his pain and agony. Both HJW and LSJ are simply amazing. This drama of tragic love and conspiracy is beautifully produced and directed. Though some don't like the ending, I do. Kudos to the writer for paying attention to the details. The story is carefully presented to the viewers. For me, I'm convinced and agree that this is the only way out. What a fantastic drama! I'm planning to watch it again because I cried so much that I missed some important scenes. BTW, I'm looking forward to reading your review of "Snow Queen". Thank you for your insightful review. DAMO EPISODES Damo - A song of devotion
Damo - A Song of Sorrow It's one of the best historical dramas. I highly recommend it to all Kdrama fans. I love it.
I just found this:
[ChanMi's movie news] Kwon Sang-woo and Ha Ji-won in a melodramatic movie "My Love Beside Me". The two stars, kwon Sang-woo and Ha Ji-won will be starring in a melodramatic movie together!
This new movie is titled, "My Love Beside Me".
Kwon is acting as a man who is suffering insomnia in his limited life span while his love acted by Ha Ji-won will be by his side loving and caring for him until the end.
The two have starred in the movie "Love So Divine" four years ago.
This film will be the first film for kwon Sang-woo as a married man, and Ha Ji-won's next movie after "Haeundae".
Ha Ji-won has been in the drama "Hwangjin-i" a year ago. She has been in movies as a comic character many times, but in this new film she will be an emotiona melodramatic character.
Wow, that's fantastic! I can't wait to see these two megastars in the same movie. I will predict that we'll need boxes of tissue to watch this new movie. I'm very happy to hear this good news.
Bo, I think I found a web site that will help you prepare RADNA the way that you like. They also demonstrate how to cook other Thai dishes too.

So "radna" is what "lad nar" calls itself when at home? ;D Thanks so much, nene. Also, the beautiful pics you posted for Damo bring back the memories. Thanks for your kind words. I don't think I had so much of a problem with the ending as I did with some of the plot points, I agree that with the way they set it up, it probably HAD to end that way. But what I think is, they didn't HAVE to set it up that way. A subtle point, I suppose... ;D
Also, Jinju, try looking at AZNtv.com for Jumong, I'm fairly sure it's listed there for streaming. I don't know about Hur June, I didn't look for it, but I seem to remember seeing Jumong. Click the link nene gives for Damo, and then look at the top and click the list of available dramas.
Hur June is the one about the doctor, some people call it "the male Dae Jang-geum" but my opinion so far is, it seems like a "dress rehearsal" for Dae Jang-geum. (I believe it had the same director, but I haven't done any research yet--the name seems similar--but he's Korean!). The style is certainly very much like DJG, the music is VERY much like DJG, the storytelling is rich like DJG, but it doesn't quite move as smoothly, some of the motivation (so far) seems a little awkward in comparison. That said, I'm only on Ep.3 so far.

You are right in a sense about the "dress rehearsal" BO. Hur Jun was broadcast years before Dae Jang Gum, and it was immensely popular in South Korea.[/size]
