Well SF fans finally came to the end of the AOW road last night. It was truly a fitting finale to what has been the finest series of dramatic television I've ever seen. I've been looking down through the posts and trying to determine if the SF channel cut anything. It seems that most of the scenes that folks talk about missing--the junior CCH ghost, the full AOW narration, etc---were all shown. The one scene I've seen mentioned that I don't recall watching was the one someone mentioned about some ministers critiqueing Woo about his calligraphy or something like that. In any case I thought it was a very strong finale. At the end of everything the subtitle read something like "Thank You For Watching The Age of Warriors". I couldn't help muttering "Thank you for showing AOW. Thank you writers and producers for your brilliance. You've showed us just how good dramatic television can be."

Maali, the scene you are refering to, is when Yi Choon-Kyung {the crazy scholar} was asked by Woo, to observe Woo's caligraphy. Choon-Kyung said that it was outstanding, but he also said that it is useless, as long as Woo deosn't understand it's meaning. Then he continues on with the "save the people" crap. Pointless scene. I can't believe that we got to see it in New York, whilst we had every good scene cut out. How can you talk a hour and a quarter episode, and cut it down to forty-five minutes?

I agree, the last show was deflating, and I'm sure the cut out parts must have been good. After it was over, I felt like there should have been more. Such a good series didn't deserve the wheezing, pokey sendoff we got in the NY/NJ area.

That was a well written tribute to AOW, Maalii. Glad you didn't get the end scenes cut. Not seeing the end retrospective here in New York had us wanting more and feeling incomplete.
