I am so upset that my upset everyone. i was just upset at the ending of the show. i thought the post said the ending, and i did not like the ending.. sorry.. (biane) i am sure it's not spelled right. Pippi, I don't think anyone is upset. (Obviously my interpretation of what you meant by them was correct.) And you're not the only one we're talking about. We all use them, all the time. In fact, that whole row of choices under "Add Smilies" is there so that people will use them. Don't worry about it. Brenda, if you want to try smileys/frownies on your Treo, can you just type in a colon : followed by a parenthesis ) or ( ? When you put them right next to each other, they should show up as a face here. I don't know how Treo works, though. P.S. to Pippi and Brenda--it's "mianhae" (I'm sorry), though the H isn't really pronounced. I know, M often sounds like B, doesn't it? I used to think I was hearing, "BO-RA-GO??" (like, "what the hey??!"), but what they're really saying is, "MUO-RA GO?"

lucy, i've been called a lot of things in the past, even a monster! & you sure did! (create one, that is), but I see everyone else's smilies with glasses, some with "mr bill's" "ooh no" mouth, etc. I gotta have them. I want them all!!! there, ...I feel better now. ya, i'd like to know, too. are you italian? my spanish, german & french are mostly forgotten & I don't know how to write sign language, (now this is where i'd be inserting my laughing smiley). LOL, LOL.

Sono quasi-italiana . I parenti di mia mamma sono arrivati in America nell' 19o secolo. (sorry, I can't remember the "historical past" tense.) That's a long time ago, but they kept up speaking Italian, especially their now probably-defunct dialect, and my mom (though not her siblings) was quite fluent in classical Italian as a child. I took it up in college just because I like learning languages. I have never become fluent in any second language, but I've also studied Span, Germ, and French, just like Brenda. Pippi, I'm guessing you are una vera italiana? Brenda, how about you? Brenda, I would like to be able to tell you how to make more of the smileys, but I'm not too clear on it myself. I know a colon and a capital P will probably give you the tongue-hanging-out icon, and a colon and a capital D gives you an open-mouth smile. I know we're really off-topic here, but the show's almost over and I think we can let this thread degenerate. Most of the Happy Woman thread have turned into catch-alls, anyway. (brenda, that's a colon-hyphen-forward slash)

oh lucy, I just can't stop! (you can see I haven't been let out of the house lately ) no i'm not italian, but I love to hear it, it sounds so romantic. french, too. i'm 1/2 n 1/2. mexicana y polish! what a combo! but I never was taught either one. so since my step father was german, I took it in high school. this way I he could help me if I needed it. then since I was 1/2 mexican I wiggled my way into taking spanish in summer school & continued it in college. I wanted to see what french was like so I went to the closest jr college & enrolled there. then a few years ago I wanted to learn ASL, (american sign language), so I went over to wright & took that there. I even got my hubby to take the 1st level with me. since german & french were so long ago, i've probably forgotten quite a bit. I try to keep my spanish & ASL in practice, but I get nervous & tongue tied sometimes when I use them. I just love languages. in high school I even took shorthand, which most people are probably too young to know what it is. it's very handy & I still use it. it's like a secret code that not too many can read! am I bad? oh ya, happy woman thread... it's down to 2 more episodes! LOL, LOL.
