I LOVE that taesop is more friendly towards jyeon. It is so sweet! Since he was so cold before it is so romantic what he does to make her feel better !

I agree pippibella, he is so cute & good to her, & since they both have a kid, it's an instant family if they get together !

Does it bother anyone else that Eunji is repeatedly called "the kid"? What happened to her having a baby, or a child, or a little one? Kid sounds so crass, when referring to the baby.

you're right, teacher,
sooo bad, I mean 4yr old child eunji, but I wouldn't say baby & I keep forgetting taesop's little boy's name, but I think both of the children are so cute together.

If I recall, I believe even a doctor used that word for baby. Very crass. I'm so glad you addressed this Teacher... I've been bothered by it all along.

I agree with you both, and I've noticed that, too. But I think it's the translator's idiosyncracy. They probably learned that "kid" is slang for "child," and they use it at every opportunity because they think it's colloquial English speech. But it isn't to our ears--it's too rough. Similarly, I had a friend from India who almost always said "buck" for "dollar." I sure don't use that word as frequently as some foreigners think we do. Maybe once a year, I find it necessary to say, for example, "They want fifty bucks for THAT??" I don't go around saying buck, or kid, very often.

as in response about taesop's mother not wanting him to marry jiyeon cuz she has a daughter, what about him? he has a son!
also, junho's sis-in-law, I don't think she has an intimate relationship with dr skin either, but I do feel she thinks it's more than just friendship for a few reasons. 1) when her mil saw them together in the restaurant, she acted funny, 2) she seemed a bit jealous when she found out dr skin has a wife, 3) she's always giving him money, & 4) yesterday she acted like she got caught doing something she shouldn't have been doing when hubby found them in the car together. dr skin, also seems to be more interested in the money he gets from her rather than in her.
junho's mom is darn lucky to have her husband & family. someone should have told her how nasty she is long ago. she never has a kind word for jiyeon & now she expects jiyeon to bend over backwards by bringing eunji to meet her asap! eeeek!!!

Remember, Taesop's son is not his biological child. He is the son of his police partner who was killed by a robber in the first episode. He tried putting the child in an orphanage but the boy was too unhappy. That's when Taesop decided to raise h im himself.

ya, I know he's not taesop's blood son, but if you reallly love your child, it doesn't matter if he's blood related or not! taesop's mom thinks of him as her grandson, so how can she act like that towards jiyeon?
jiyeon takes good care of eunji & she's beautiful. it just seems so pre-judgmental to me. since taesop has a son himself, (biological or not), she should be more understanding.
as her husband sez, it's probably not the fact she has a daughter, but the fact that she is a divorcee!

I'm afraid that's just the way it is. Being divorced and having a child is two strikes against you in the eyes of many Korean parents looking for a son- or daughter-in-law. I get the impression that the big stumbling block is your having been married before, and whether or not you have kids is just a further "aigu!!" complication. Seems like, if your own son or daughter has not been married (whether or not that necessarily implies "virgin"), he or she "deserves" someone fresh and unsullied, or your status/self-concept as a parent suffers.

That kiss was strong, but I think the prize winning kiss is the first hug and kiss between Sukky and Jongnam in BB. He also told her for the first time that he loved her.
